Translation helpFrequently asked questions about Quran translations
Practical answers to help you find a surah, choose a translation, and understand the tools available.
Is a translation the same as the Arabic Quran?
No. A translation expresses the meanings in another language. The Arabic Quran text is preserved separately alongside the translation.
Why are there several translations in one language?
Translators and publishers can use different wording and explanations when rendering meanings. The edition name identifies which text you are reading.
Can I compare translations in different languages?
Yes. On the comparison page, select one or two editions in your first language, then choose another language and an available edition.
How do I open a specific verse?
Use the direct surah-and-verse finder on the translation homepage. Links can also take you to a verse using its number within a surah.
Are saved reading positions shared across devices?
No account is required; positions and saved verses are stored in your current browser, not automatically synchronized between devices.
