بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ وَٱلصَّٰٓفَّٰتِ صَفًّۭا ﴿1﴾

صف باندھ کر کھڑے ہونے والو ں کی قسم ہے

فَٱلزَّٰجِرَٰتِ زَجْرًۭا ﴿2﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر جھڑک کر ڈانٹنے والوں کی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And by oath of those who herd with a stern warning.
Arberry
and the scarers scaring
فَٱلتَّٰلِيَٰتِ ذِكْرًا ﴿3﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ذکر الہیٰ کے تلاوت کرنے والوں کی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And by oath of the groups that read the Qur’an.
Arberry
and the reciters of a Remembrance,
إِنَّ إِلَٰهَكُمْ لَوَٰحِدٌۭ ﴿4﴾
Ahmed Ali
البتہ تمہارا معبود ایک ہی ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Indeed your God is surely only One.
Arberry
surely your God is One,
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَشَٰرِقِ ﴿5﴾
Ahmed Ali
آسمانوں اور زمین اور اس کے اندر کی سب چیزو ں کا اور مشرقوں کا رب ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – and the Lord of the sun’s rising points.
Arberry
Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts.
إِنَّا زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنْيَا بِزِينَةٍ ٱلْكَوَاكِبِ ﴿6﴾
Ahmed Ali
ہم نے نیچے کے آسمان کو ستاروں سے سجایا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
We have indeed adorned the lowest heaven with stars as ornaments.
Arberry
We have adorned the lower heaven with the adornment of the stars
وَحِفْظًۭا مِّن كُلِّ شَيْطَٰنٍۢ مَّارِدٍۢ ﴿7﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور اسے ہر ایک سرکش شیطان سے محفوظ رکھا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And to protect it from every rebellious devil.
Arberry
and to preserve against every rebel Satan;
لَّا يَسَّمَّعُونَ إِلَى ٱلْمَلَإِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ وَيُقْذَفُونَ مِن كُلِّ جَانِبٍۢ ﴿8﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ عالم بالا کی باتیں نہیں سن سکتے اور ان پر ہر طرف سے (انگارے) پھینکے جاتے ہیں

They cannot listen to the speech of those on higher elevations and they are targeted from every side.
Arberry
they listen not to the High Council, for they are pelted from every side,
دُحُورًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌۭ وَاصِبٌ ﴿9﴾
Ahmed Ali
بھگانے کے لیے اور ان پر ہمیشہ کا عذاب ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment.
Arberry
rejected, and theirs is an everlasting chastisement,
إِلَّا مَنْ خَطِفَ ٱلْخَطْفَةَ فَأَتْبَعَهُۥ شِهَابٌۭ ثَاقِبٌۭ ﴿10﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر جو کوئی اچک لے جائے تو اس کے پیچھے دہکتا ہوا انگارہ پڑتا ہے

Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him.
Arberry
except such as snatches a fragment, and he is pursued by a piercing flame.
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَهُمْ أَشَدُّ خَلْقًا أَم مَّنْ خَلَقْنَآ ۚ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُم مِّن طِينٍۢ لَّازِبٍۭ ﴿11﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس ان سے پوچھیئے کیا ان کا بنانا زیادہ مشکل ہے یا ان کا جنہیں ہم نے پیدا کیا ہے بے شک ہم نے انہیں لیسدار مٹی سے پیدا کیا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “Are they a stronger creation, or are other things of our creation, (the angels, the heavens etc.)?” We have indeed created them from sticky clay.
Arberry
So ask them for a pronouncement -- Are they stronger in constitution, or those We created? We created them of clinging clay.
بَلْ عَجِبْتَ وَيَسْخَرُونَ ﴿12﴾
Ahmed Ali
بلکہ آپ نے تو تعجب کیاہے اور وہ ٹھٹھا کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Rather you are surprised, whereas they keep mocking.
Arberry
Nay, thou marvellest; and they scoff
وَإِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ لَا يَذْكُرُونَ ﴿13﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور جب انہیں نصیحت کی جاتی ہے تو قبول نہیں کرتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they do not understand, when explained to.
Arberry
and, when reminded, do not remember
وَإِذَا رَأَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يَسْتَسْخِرُونَ ﴿14﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور جب کوئی معجزہ دیکھتے ہیں تو ہسنی کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it.
Arberry
and, when they see a sign, would scoff;
وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ ﴿15﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کہتے ہیں یہ تو محض صریح جادو ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they say, “This is nothing but clear magic.”
Arberry
and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery.
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ ﴿16﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا جب ہم مر جائیں گے اور مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہو جائیں گے تو کیا ہم پھر اٹھائے جائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“When we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, will we certainly be raised again?”
Arberry
What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up?
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلْأَوَّلُونَ ﴿17﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کیا ہمارے پہلے باپ دادا بھی
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And also our forefathers?”
Arberry
What, and our fathers, the ancients?'
قُلْ نَعَمْ وَأَنتُمْ دَٰخِرُونَ ﴿18﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہہ دو ہاں اور تم ذلیل ہونے والے ہوگے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Proclaim, “Yes, and with disgrace.”
Arberry
Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.'
فَإِنَّمَا هِىَ زَجْرَةٌۭ وَٰحِدَةٌۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿19﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس وہ تو ایک زور کی آواز ہو گی پس ناگہان وہ دیکھنے لگیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So that is just a single jolt, thereupon they will begin staring.
Arberry
For it is only a single scaring, then behold, they are watching
وَقَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلدِّينِ ﴿20﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کہیں گے ہائے ہماری کمبختی! جزا کا دن یہی ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And will say, “O our misfortune!” It will be said to them, “This is the Day of Justice.”
Arberry
and they say, 'Woe, alas for us! This is the Day of Doom.'
هَٰذَا يَوْمُ ٱلْفَصْلِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿21﴾
Ahmed Ali
یہی فیصلے کا دن ہے جسے تم جھٹلایا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“This is the Day of Judgement, which you used to deny!”
Arberry
'This is the Day of Decision, even that you cried lies to.
۞ ٱحْشُرُوا۟ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ وَأَزْوَٰجَهُمْ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْبُدُونَ ﴿22﴾
Ahmed Ali
انہیں جمع کر دو جنہوں نے ظلم کیا اور ان کی بیویوں کو اور جن کی وہ عبادت کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Gather all the unjust persons and their spouses, and all that they used to worship!” –
Arberry
Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving,
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَٱهْدُوهُمْ إِلَىٰ صِرَٰطِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿23﴾
Ahmed Ali
سوائے الله کے پھر انہیں جہنم کے راستے کی طرف ہانک کر لے جاؤ
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.”

apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell!
وَقِفُوهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُم مَّسْـُٔولُونَ ﴿24﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انہیں کھڑا کر و ان سے دریافت کرنا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And stop them – they are to be questioned.”
Arberry
And halt them, to be questioned:
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنَاصَرُونَ ﴿25﴾
Ahmed Ali
تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ آپس میں ایک دوسرےے کی مدد نہیں کرتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“What is the matter with you, that you do not help one another?”
Arberry
"Why help you not one another?"
بَلْ هُمُ ٱلْيَوْمَ مُسْتَسْلِمُونَ ﴿26﴾
Ahmed Ali
بلکہ آج کے دن وہ سر جھکائے کھڑے ہوں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
In fact this day they have all surrendered.
Arberry
No indeed; but today they resign themselves in submission
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ﴿27﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ایک دوسرے کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر پوچھے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning.
Arberry
and advance one upon another, asking each other questions.
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّكُمْ كُنتُمْ تَأْتُونَنَا عَنِ ٱلْيَمِينِ ﴿28﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہیں گے بے شک تم ہمارے پاس دائیں طرف سے آتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.”
Arberry
These say, 'Why, you of old would come to us from the right hand.'
قَالُوا۟ بَل لَّمْ تَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿29﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہیں گے بلکہ تم خود ہی ایمان والے نہیں تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
They will answer, “You yourselves did not have faith!”
Arberry
Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers;
وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيْكُم مِّن سُلْطَٰنٍۭ ۖ بَلْ كُنتُمْ قَوْمًۭا طَٰغِينَ ﴿30﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہمیں تم پر کوئی زور نہیں تھا بلکہ تم ہی سرکش لوگ تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And we did not have any control over you; but in fact you yourselves were rebellious.”
Arberry
we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people.
فَحَقَّ عَلَيْنَا قَوْلُ رَبِّنَآ ۖ إِنَّا لَذَآئِقُونَ ﴿31﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم سب پر ہمارے رب کا قول پورا ہو گیا کہ ہم سب عذاب چکھنے والے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“So the Word of our Lord has proved true upon us; we will surely have to taste (the punishment).”
Arberry
So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it.
فَأَغْوَيْنَٰكُمْ إِنَّا كُنَّا غَٰوِينَ ﴿32﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم نے تمہیں بھی گمراہ کیا ہم خود بھی گمراہ تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“We therefore led you astray, for we ourselves were astray!”
Arberry
Therefore we perverted you, and we ourselves were perverts.'
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ فِى ٱلْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ ﴿33﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر اس دن عذاب میں وہ سب یکساں ہو ں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So this day they all are partners in the punishment.
Arberry
So all of them on that day are sharers in the chastisement.
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿34﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم مجرمو ں سے ایسا ہی سلوک کیا کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
This is how We deal with the guilty.
Arberry
Even so We do with the sinners;
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوٓا۟ إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ﴿35﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک وہ ایسے تھے کہ جب ان سے کہا جاتا تھا کہ سوائے الله کے اور کوئی معبود نہیں تو وہ تکبر کیا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty.
Arberry
for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud,
وَيَقُولُونَ أَئِنَّا لَتَارِكُوٓا۟ ءَالِهَتِنَا لِشَاعِرٍۢ مَّجْنُونٍۭ ﴿36﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور وہ کہتے تھے کیا ہم اپنے معبودوں کو ایک شاعر دیوانہ کے کہنے سے چھوڑ دیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they used to say, “Shall we forsake our Gods upon the sayings of a mad poet?”
Arberry
saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?'
بَلْ جَآءَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَصَدَّقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿37﴾
Ahmed Ali
بلکہ وہ حق لایا ہے اور اس نے سب رسولوں کی تصدیق کی ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers!
Arberry
'No indeed; but he brought the truth, and confirmed the Envoys.
إِنَّكُمْ لَذَآئِقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَلِيمِ ﴿38﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک اب تم دردناک عذاب چکھو گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“You surely have to taste the painful punishment.”
Arberry
Now certainly you shall be tasting the painful chastisement,
وَمَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿39﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور تمہیں وہی بدلہ دیا جائے گا جو تم کیا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.”
Arberry
and not be recompensed, except according to what you were doing.'
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿40﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر جو الله کے خاص بندے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
Arberry
Except for God's sincere servants;
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ لَهُمْ رِزْقٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ ﴿41﴾
Ahmed Ali
یہی لوگ ہیں جن کے لیے رزق معلوم ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
For them is the sustenance known to Us.
Arberry
for them awaits a known provision,
فَوَٰكِهُ ۖ وَهُم مُّكْرَمُونَ ﴿42﴾
Ahmed Ali
میوے اور انہیں کوعزت دی جائے گی
Ahmed Raza Khan
Fruits; and they will be honoured.
Arberry
fruits -- and they high-honoured
فِى جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴿43﴾
Ahmed Ali
نعمتوں کے باغوں میں
Ahmed Raza Khan
In Gardens of peace.
Arberry
in the Gardens of Bliss
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مُّتَقَٰبِلِينَ ﴿44﴾
Ahmed Ali
ایک دوسرے کے سامنے تختوں پر
Ahmed Raza Khan
Facing one another on thrones.
Arberry
upon couches, set face to face,
يُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِكَأْسٍۢ مِّن مَّعِينٍۭ ﴿45﴾
Ahmed Ali
ان میں صاف شراب کا دور چل رہا ہوگا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Cups of wine will be presented to them in rounds, from a spring flowing in front of them.
Arberry
a cup from a spring being passed round to them,
بَيْضَآءَ لَذَّةٍۢ لِّلشَّٰرِبِينَ ﴿46﴾
Ahmed Ali
سفید پینے والوں کے لیے لذیذ ہوگی
Ahmed Raza Khan
White, delicious for the drinkers.
Arberry
white, a delight to the drinkers,
لَا فِيهَا غَوْلٌۭ وَلَا هُمْ عَنْهَا يُنزَفُونَ ﴿47﴾
Ahmed Ali
نہ اس میں درد سر ہوگا اور نہ انہیں اس سے نشہ ہوگا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Neither does it intoxicate, nor give a headache.
Arberry
wherein no sickness is, neither intoxication;
وَعِندَهُمْ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ عِينٌۭ ﴿48﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے پاس نیچی نگاہ والی بڑی آنکھوں والی ہوں گی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And with them are those who do not set gaze upon men except their husbands, the maidens with gorgeous eyes.
Arberry
and with them wide-eyed maidens restraining their glances
كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ ﴿49﴾
Ahmed Ali
گویا کہ وہ پردہ میں رکھے ہوئے انڈے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
As if they were eggs, safely hidden.
Arberry
as if they were hidden pearls.
فَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ﴿50﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس وہ ایک دوسرے کی طرف متوجہ ہو کر آپس میں سوال کریں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So one among them turns to the other, questioning. –
Arberry
They advance one upon another, asking each other questions.
قَالَ قَآئِلٌۭ مِّنْهُمْ إِنِّى كَانَ لِى قَرِينٌۭ ﴿51﴾
Ahmed Ali
ان میں سے ایک کہنے والا کہے گا کہ میرا ایک ساتھی تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
The speaker among them said, “I had a companion.” –
Arberry
One of them says, 'I had a comrade
يَقُولُ أَءِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُصَدِّقِينَ ﴿52﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ کہا کرتا تھا کہ کیا تو تصدیق کرنے والوں میں ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Who used to tell me, ‘Do you believe it is true?’ –
Arberry
who would say, "Are you a confirmer?
أَءِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًۭا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ ﴿53﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا جب ہم مر جائیں گے اور مٹی اور ہڈیاں ہوجائیں گے تو کیا ہمیں بدلہ دیا جائے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’”
Arberry
What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?"
قَالَ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ﴿54﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہے گا کیا تم بھی دیکھنا چاہتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
He said (to others on the thrones), “Will you take a glimpse (into hell) below?”
Arberry
He says, 'Are you looking down?'
فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِى سَوَآءِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿55﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس وہ جھانکے گا تو اسے دوزح کے درمیان دیکھے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
He therefore looked down and saw him amidst the blazing fire.
Arberry
Then he looks, and sees him in the midst of Hell.
قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرْدِينِ ﴿56﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہے گا الله کی قسم! تو تو قریب تھا کہ مجھے ہلاک ہی کر دے
Ahmed Raza Khan
He said, “By Allah, you had nearly ruined me!”
Arberry
He says, 'By God, wellnigh thou didst destroy me;
وَلَوْلَا نِعْمَةُ رَبِّى لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلْمُحْضَرِينَ ﴿57﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور اگر میرے رب کا فضل نہ ہوتا تو میں بھی حاضر کیے ہوئے مجرموں میں ہوتا
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!”
Arberry
But for my Lord's blessing, I were one of the arraigned.
أَفَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ ﴿58﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس کیا اب ہم مرنے والے نہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.)
Arberry
What, do we then not die
إِلَّا مَوْتَتَنَا ٱلْأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ﴿59﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر ہمارا پہلی بار کا مرنا اور ہمیں عذاب نہیں دیا جائے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?”
Arberry
except for our first death, and are we not chastised?
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ﴿60﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک یہی بڑی کامیابی ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“This is, most certainly, the supreme success.”
Arberry
This is indeed the mighty triumph,
لِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا فَلْيَعْمَلِ ٱلْعَٰمِلُونَ ﴿61﴾
Ahmed Ali
ایسی ہی کامیابی کے لیے عمل کرنے والوں کو عمل کرنا چاہیے
Ahmed Raza Khan
For such a reward should the workers perform.
Arberry
for the like of this let the workers work.'
أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌۭ نُّزُلًا أَمْ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ﴿62﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا یہ اچھی مہمانی ہے یا تھوہر کا درخت
Ahmed Raza Khan
So is this welcome better, or the tree of Zaqqum?
Arberry
Is that better as a hospitality, or the Tree of Ez-Zakkoum?
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَٰهَا فِتْنَةًۭ لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴿63﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم نے اسے ظالموں کے لئےآزمائش بنایاہے

We have indeed made that a punishment for the unjust.
Arberry
We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers.
إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٌۭ تَخْرُجُ فِىٓ أَصْلِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿64﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک وہ ایک درخت ہے جو دوزخ کی جڑ میں اُگتا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Indeed it is a tree that sprouts from the base of hell.
Arberry
It is a tree that comes forth in the root of Hell;
طَلْعُهَا كَأَنَّهُۥ رُءُوسُ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ ﴿65﴾
Ahmed Ali
اس کا پھل گویا کہ سانپوں کے پھن ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Its fruit like the heads of demons.
Arberry
its spathes are as the heads of Satans,
فَإِنَّهُمْ لَءَاكِلُونَ مِنْهَا فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنْهَا ٱلْبُطُونَ ﴿66﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس بے شک وہ اس میں سے کھائیں گے پھر اس سے اپنے پیٹ بھر لیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it.
Arberry
and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies,
ثُمَّ إِنَّ لَهُمْ عَلَيْهَا لَشَوْبًۭا مِّنْ حَمِيمٍۢ ﴿67﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر اس پر ان کو کھولتا ہوا پانی (پیپ وغیرہ سے) ملا کر دیا جائے گا

Then after it, indeed for them is the drink of boiling hot water.
Arberry
then on top of it they have a brew of boiling water,
ثُمَّ إِنَّ مَرْجِعَهُمْ لَإِلَى ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿68﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر بے شک دوزخ کی طرف ان کا لوٹنا ہو گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Then surely their return is towards hell.
Arberry
then their return is unto Hell.
إِنَّهُمْ أَلْفَوْا۟ ءَابَآءَهُمْ ضَآلِّينَ ﴿69﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیوں کہ انہوں نے اپنے باپ دادوں کو گمراہ پایا تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
They had indeed found their forefathers astray.
Arberry
They found their fathers erring,
فَهُمْ عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِمْ يُهْرَعُونَ ﴿70﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر وہ ان کے پیچھے دوڑتے چلے گئے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So they hastily follow their footsteps!
Arberry
and they run in their footsteps.
وَلَقَدْ ضَلَّ قَبْلَهُمْ أَكْثَرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿71﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور البتہ ان سے پہلے بہت سے اگلے لوگ گمراہ ہو چکے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed before them, most of the former people went astray.
Arberry
Before them erred most of the ancients,
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا فِيهِم مُّنذِرِينَ ﴿72﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور البتہ ہم نے ان میں ڈرانے والے بھیجے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them.
Arberry
and We sent among them warners;
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ﴿73﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر دیکھ جنہیں ڈرایا گیا تھا ان کا کیا انجام ہوا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned!
Arberry
and behold, how was the end of them that were warned,
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿74﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر الله کے خالص بندے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
Arberry
except for God's sincere servants.
وَلَقَدْ نَادَىٰنَا نُوحٌۭ فَلَنِعْمَ ٱلْمُجِيبُونَ ﴿75﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہمیں نوح نے پکارا پس ہم کیا خوب جواب دینے والے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are!
Arberry
Noah called to Us; and how excellent were the Answerers!
وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿76﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اسے اور اس کے گھر والوں کو بڑی مصیبت سے نجات دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We rescued him and his household from the great calamity.
Arberry
And We delivered him and his people from the great distress,
وَجَعَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُۥ هُمُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ ﴿77﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اس کی اولاد ہی کو باقی رہنے والی کر دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We preserved his descendants.
Arberry
and We made his seed the survivors,
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ﴿78﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ان کے لیے پیچھے آنے والے لوگوں میں یہ بات رہنے دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We kept his praise among the latter generations.
Arberry
and left for him among the later folk
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ نُوحٍۢ فِى ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿79﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہ سارے جہان میں نوح پر سلام ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people.
Arberry
'Peace be upon Noah among all beings!'
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿80﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم نیکو کاروں کو ایسا ہی بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
This is how We reward the virtuous.
Arberry
Even so We recompense the good-doers;
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿81﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک وہ ہمارے ایماندار بندوں میں تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen.
Arberry
he was among Our believing servants.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ ﴿82﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم نے دوسروں کو غرق کر دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
We then drowned the others.
Arberry
Then afterwards We drowned the rest.
۞ وَإِنَّ مِن شِيعَتِهِۦ لَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ﴿83﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک اسی کے طریق پر چلنے والوں میں ابراھیم بھی تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group.
Arberry
Of his party was also Abraham;
إِذْ جَآءَ رَبَّهُۥ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍ ﴿84﴾
Ahmed Ali
جب کہ وہ پاک دل سے اپنے رب کی طرف رجوع ہوا
Ahmed Raza Khan
When he came to his Lord, with a sound heart. (Free from falsehood).
Arberry
when he came unto his Lord with a pure heart,
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَاذَا تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿85﴾
Ahmed Ali
جب کہ ا س نے اپنے باپ اور اپنی قوم سے کہا تم کس چیز کی عبادت کرتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
When he said to his father (paternal uncle) and his people, “What do you worship?”
Arberry
when he said to his father and his folk, 'What do you serve?
أَئِفْكًا ءَالِهَةًۭ دُونَ ٱللَّهِ تُرِيدُونَ ﴿86﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا تم جھوٹے معبودوں کو الله کے سوا چاہتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“What! You desire, through fabrication, Gods other than Allah?”
Arberry
Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire?
فَمَا ظَنُّكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿87﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر تمہارا پروردگارِ عالم کی نسبت کیا خیال ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?)
Arberry
What think you then of the Lord of all Being?'
فَنَظَرَ نَظْرَةًۭ فِى ٱلنُّجُومِ ﴿88﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر اس نے ایک بار ستاروں میں غور سے دیکھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
He then shot a glance at the stars.
Arberry
And he cast a glance at the stars,
فَقَالَ إِنِّى سَقِيمٌۭ ﴿89﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر کہا بے شک میں بیمار ہوں
Ahmed Raza Khan
He then said, “I feel sick (of you)!”
Arberry
and he said, 'Surely I am sick.'
فَتَوَلَّوْا۟ عَنْهُ مُدْبِرِينَ ﴿90﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس وہ لوگ اس کے ہاں سے پیٹھ پھیر کر واپس پھرے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease).
Arberry
But they went away from him, turning their backs.
فَرَاغَ إِلَىٰٓ ءَالِهَتِهِمْ فَقَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ ﴿91﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس وہ چپکے سے ان کے معبودوں کے پاس گیا پھر کہا کیاتم کھاتے نہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
He then sneaked upon their deities and said, “Do you not eat?”
Arberry
Then he turned to their gods, and said, 'What do you eat?
مَا لَكُمْ لَا تَنطِقُونَ ﴿92﴾
Ahmed Ali
تمہیں کیا ہوا کہ تم بولتے نہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?”
Arberry
What ails you, that you speak not?'
فَرَاغَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضَرْبًۢا بِٱلْيَمِينِ ﴿93﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر وہ بڑے زور کے ساتھ دائیں ہاتھ سے ان کے توڑنے پر پل پڑا
Ahmed Raza Khan
He then began striking them with his right hand, unseen by the people.
Arberry
And he turned upon them smiting them with his right hand.
فَأَقْبَلُوٓا۟ إِلَيْهِ يَزِفُّونَ ﴿94﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر وہ اس کی طرف دوڑتے ہوئے بڑھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So the disbelievers came running towards him.
Arberry
Then came the others to him hastening.
قَالَ أَتَعْبُدُونَ مَا تَنْحِتُونَ ﴿95﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا کیا تم پوجتے ہو جنہیں تم خود تراشتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
He said, “What! You worship what you yourselves have sculpted?”
Arberry
He said, 'Do you serve what you hew,
وَٱللَّهُ خَلَقَكُمْ وَمَا تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿96﴾
Ahmed Ali
حالانکہ الله ہی نے تمہیں پیدا کیا اور جو تم بناتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?”
Arberry
and God created you and what you make?'
قَالُوا۟ ٱبْنُوا۟ لَهُۥ بُنْيَٰنًۭا فَأَلْقُوهُ فِى ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿97﴾
Ahmed Ali
انہوں نے کہا ا س کے لیے ایک مکان بناؤ پھر اس کو آگ میں ڈال دو
Ahmed Raza Khan
They said, “Construct a building (furnace) for him, and then cast him in the blazing fire!”
Arberry
They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!'
فَأَرَادُوا۟ بِهِۦ كَيْدًۭا فَجَعَلْنَٰهُمُ ٱلْأَسْفَلِينَ ﴿98﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس انہوں نے اس سے داؤ کرنے کا ارادہ کیا سو ہم نے انہیں ذلیل کر دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him – We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool).
Arberry
They desired to outwit him; so We made them the lower ones.
وَقَالَ إِنِّى ذَاهِبٌ إِلَىٰ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ ﴿99﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کہا میں نے اپنے رب کی طرف جانے والا ہوں وہ مجھے راہ بتائے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And he said, “Indeed I shall go to my Lord Who will guide me.”
Arberry
He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى مِنَ ٱلصَّٰلِحِينَ ﴿100﴾
Ahmed Ali
اے میرے رب! مجھے ایک صالح (لڑکا) عطا کر
Ahmed Raza Khan
“My Lord! Give me a meritorious child.”
Arberry
My Lord, give me one of the righteous.'
فَبَشَّرْنَٰهُ بِغُلَٰمٍ حَلِيمٍۢ ﴿101﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس ہم نے اسے ایک لڑکے حلم والے کی خوشخبری دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
We therefore gave him the glad tidings of an intelligent son.
Arberry
Then We gave him the good tidings of a prudent boy;
فَلَمَّا بَلَغَ مَعَهُ ٱلسَّعْىَ قَالَ يَٰبُنَىَّ إِنِّىٓ أَرَىٰ فِى ٱلْمَنَامِ أَنِّىٓ أَذْبَحُكَ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا تَرَىٰ ۚ قَالَ يَٰٓأَبَتِ ٱفْعَلْ مَا تُؤْمَرُ ۖ سَتَجِدُنِىٓ إِن شَآءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّٰبِرِينَ ﴿102﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر جب وہ اس کے ہمراہ چلنے پھرنے لگا کہا اے بیٹے! بے شک میں خواب میں دیکھتا ہوں کہ میں تجھے ذبح کر کر رہا ہوں پس دیکھ تیری کیا رائےہے کہا اے ابا! جو حکم آپ کو ہوا ہے کر دیجیئے آپ مجھے انشاالله صبر کرنے والوں میں پائیں گے

And when he became capable of working with him, Ibrahim said, “O my son, I dreamt that I am sacrificing you – therefore now consider what is your opinion”; he said, “O my father! Do what you are commanded! Allah willing, you will soon find me patiently enduring!”
Arberry
and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.'
فَلَمَّآ أَسْلَمَا وَتَلَّهُۥ لِلْجَبِينِ ﴿103﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس جب دونوں نے قبول کر لیا اور اس نے پیشانی کے بل ڈال دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail)
Arberry
When they had surrendered, and he flung him upon his brow,
وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ أَن يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ﴿104﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اسے پکارا کہ اے ابراھیم!
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We called out to him, “O Ibrahim!”
Arberry
We called unto him, 'Abraham,
قَدْ صَدَّقْتَ ٱلرُّءْيَآ ۚ إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿105﴾
Ahmed Ali
تو نے خواب سچا کر دکھایا بے شک ہم اسی طرح ہم اسی طرح نیکو کاروں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“You have indeed made the dream come true”; and this is how We reward the virtuous.
Arberry
thou hast confirmed the vision; even so We recompense the good-doers.
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْبَلَٰٓؤُا۟ ٱلْمُبِينُ ﴿106﴾
Ahmed Ali
البتہ یہ صریح آزمائش ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Indeed this was a clear test.
Arberry
This is indeed the manifest trial.'
وَفَدَيْنَٰهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍۢ ﴿107﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ایک بڑا ذبیحہ ا سکے عوض دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail – peace be upon them – is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj).

And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice,
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ﴿108﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے پیچھے آنے والوں میں یہ بات ان کے لیے رہنے دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We kept his praise among the latter generations.
Arberry
and left for him among the later folk
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ﴿109﴾
Ahmed Ali
ابراھیم پر سلام ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
Peace be upon Ibrahim!
Arberry
'Peace be upon Abraham!'
كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿110﴾
Ahmed Ali
اسی طرح ہم نیکو کاروں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
This is how We reward the virtuous.
Arberry

اور ہم نے اسے اسحاق کی بشارت دی کہ وہ نبی (اور) نیک لوگو ں میں سے ہوگا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity.
Arberry
Then We gave him the good tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous.
وَبَٰرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَىٰٓ إِسْحَٰقَ ۚ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا مُحْسِنٌۭ وَظَالِمٌۭ لِّنَفْسِهِۦ مُبِينٌۭ ﴿113﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ابراھیم اور اسحاق پر برکتیں نازل کیں اور ان کی اولاد میں سے کوئی نیک بھی ہیں اور کوئی اپنے آپ پر کھلم کھلا ظلم کرنے والے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves.
Arberry
And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers.
وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ﴿114﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور البتہ ہم نےموسیٰ اور ہارون پراحسان کیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We indeed did a great favour to Moosa and Haroon.
Arberry
We also favoured Moses and Aaron,
وَنَجَّيْنَٰهُمَا وَقَوْمَهُمَا مِنَ ٱلْكَرْبِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ ﴿115﴾
Ahmed Ali
او رہم نے ان دونوں کو اور ان کی قوم کو بڑی مصیبت سے نجات دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And rescued them and their people from the great calamity.
Arberry
and We delivered them and their people from the great distress.
وَنَصَرْنَٰهُمْ فَكَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبِينَ ﴿116﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ان کی مدد کی پس وہی غالب رہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We helped them, so they were victorious.
Arberry
And We helped them, so that they were the victors;
وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلْكِتَٰبَ ٱلْمُسْتَبِينَ ﴿117﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ان دونوں کو واضح کتاب دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We bestowed the clear Book to both of them.
Arberry
and We gave them the Manifesting Book,
وَهَدَيْنَٰهُمَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ ﴿118﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے دونوں کو راہِ راست پر چلایا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And guided them to the Straight Path.
Arberry
and guided them in the straight path,
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِمَا فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ﴿119﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے لیے آئندہ نسلوں میں یہ باقی رکھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We kept their praise among the latter generations.
Arberry
and left for them among the later folk
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ﴿120﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہ موسیٰ اور ہارون پر سلام ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
Peace be upon Moosa and Haroon!
Arberry
'Peace be upon Moses and, Aaron!'
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿121﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم اسی طرح نیکو کاروں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں

This is how We reward the virtuous.
Arberry

اور بے شک الیاس رسولوں میں سے تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers.
Arberry
Elias too was one of the Envoys;
إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ﴿124﴾
Ahmed Ali
جب کہ اس نے اپنی قوم سے کہا کیا تم ڈرتے نہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?”
Arberry
when he said to his people, 'Will you not be godfearing?
أَتَدْعُونَ بَعْلًۭا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحْسَنَ ٱلْخَٰلِقِينَ ﴿125﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا تم بعل کو پکارتے ہو اور سب سے بہتر بنانے والے کو چھوڑدیتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” –
Arberry
Do you call on Baal, and abandon the Best of creators?
ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمْ وَرَبَّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿126﴾
Ahmed Ali
الله کو جو تمہارا رب ہے اور تمہارے پہلے باپ دادوں کا رب ہے

“Allah – Who is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?”
Arberry
God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers, the ancients?'
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ ﴿127﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس انہوں نے اس کو جھٹلایا پس بے شک وہ حاضر کیے جائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
In response they denied him, so they will surely be brought forth as captives.
Arberry
But they cried him lies; so they will be among the arraigned,
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿128﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگرجو الله کے خالص بندے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
Arberry
except for God's sincere servants;
وَتَرَكْنَا عَلَيْهِ فِى ٱلْءَاخِرِينَ ﴿129﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اس پر پچھلے لوگوں میں چھوڑا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We kept his praise among the latter generations.
Arberry
and We left for him among the later folk
سَلَٰمٌ عَلَىٰٓ إِلْ يَاسِينَ ﴿130﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہ الیاس پر سلام ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
Peace be upon Ilyas!
Arberry
'Peace be upon Elias!'
إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى ٱلْمُحْسِنِينَ ﴿131﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم اسی طرح نیکو کاروں کو بدلہ دیا کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
This is how We reward the virtuous.
Arberry
Even so We recompense the good-doers;
إِنَّهُۥ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ﴿132﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک وہ ہمار ایماندار بندوں میں سے تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen.
Arberry
he was among Our believing servants.
وَإِنَّ لُوطًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿133﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک لوط بھی رسولوں میں سے تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed Lut is one of the Noble Messengers.
Arberry
Lot too was one of the Envoys;
إِذْ نَجَّيْنَٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿134﴾
Ahmed Ali
جب کہ ہم نے اس کو اور اس کے سب گھر والوں کو نجات دی
Ahmed Raza Khan
When We rescued him and his entire household.
Arberry
when We delivered him and his people all together,
إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَٰبِرِينَ ﴿135﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر ایک بڑھیاکو جو عذاب پانے والوں میں رہ گئی
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except an old woman, who became of those who stayed behind.
Arberry
save an old woman among those that tarried;
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْءَاخَرِينَ ﴿136﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم نے دوسروں کو ہلاک کر دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
We then destroyed the others.
Arberry
then We destroyed the others,
وَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَمُرُّونَ عَلَيْهِم مُّصْبِحِينَ ﴿137﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک تم ان کے پاس سے صبح کے وقت گزرتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed you pass over them in the morning. –
Arberry
and you pass by them in the morning
وَبِٱلَّيْلِ ۗ أَفَلَا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿138﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور رات میں بھی پس کیا تم عقل نہیں رکھتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And during the night; so do you not have sense?
Arberry
and in the night; will you not understand?
وَإِنَّ يُونُسَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿139﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک یونس بھی رسولوں میں سے تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers.
Arberry
Jonah too was one of the Envoys;
إِذْ أَبَقَ إِلَى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ﴿140﴾
Ahmed Ali
جب کہ وہ بھاگ گیا اس کشتی کی طرف جو بھری ہوئی تھی
Ahmed Raza Khan
When he left towards the laden ship.
Arberry
when he ran away to the laden ship
فَسَاهَمَ فَكَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُدْحَضِينَ ﴿141﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر قرعہ ڈالا تو وہی خطا کاروں میں تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Then lots were drawn and he became of those who were pushed into the sea.
Arberry
and cast lots, and was of the rebutted,
فَٱلْتَقَمَهُ ٱلْحُوتُ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ ﴿142﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر اسے مچھلی نے لقمہ بنا لیا اوروہ پشیمان تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
The fish then swallowed him and he blamed himself. (For not waiting for Allah’s command.)
Arberry
then the whale swallowed him down, and he blameworthy.
فَلَوْلَآ أَنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَبِّحِينَ ﴿143﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس اگر یہ بات نہ ہوتی کہ وہ تسبیح کرنے والوں میں سے تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And were he not one of those who praise. –
Arberry
Now had he not been of those that glorify God,
لَلَبِثَ فِى بَطْنِهِۦٓ إِلَىٰ يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ ﴿144﴾
Ahmed Ali
تو وہ اس کے پیٹ میں اس دن تک رہتا جس میں لوگ اٹھائے جائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised.
Arberry
he would have tarried in its belly until the day they shall be raised;
۞ فَنَبَذْنَٰهُ بِٱلْعَرَآءِ وَهُوَ سَقِيمٌۭ ﴿145﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم نے اسے میدان میں ڈال دیا اور وہ بیمار تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick.
Arberry
but We cast him upon the wilderness, and he was sick,
وَأَنۢبَتْنَا عَلَيْهِ شَجَرَةًۭ مِّن يَقْطِينٍۢ ﴿146﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اس پر ایک درخت بیلدار اگا دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We grew a tree of gourd (as a shelter) above him.
Arberry
and We caused to grow over him a tree of gourds.
وَأَرْسَلْنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلْفٍ أَوْ يَزِيدُونَ ﴿147﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اس کو ایک لاکھ یا اس سے زیادہ لوگوں کے پاس بھیجا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We sent him towards a hundred thousand people, in fact more.
Arberry
Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more,
فَـَٔامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعْنَٰهُمْ إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ ﴿148﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس وہ لوگ ایمان لائے پھر ہم نے انہیں ایک وقت تک فائدہ اٹھانے دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
So they accepted faith – We therefore gave them usage for a while.
Arberry
and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while.
فَٱسْتَفْتِهِمْ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلْبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ ﴿149﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس ان سے پوچھیئے کیا آپ کے رب کے لیے تو لڑکیا ں ہیں اور ان کے لیے لڑکے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them!
Arberry
So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons?
أَمْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ إِنَٰثًۭا وَهُمْ شَٰهِدُونَ ﴿150﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا ہم نے فرشتوں کو عورتیں بنایا ہے اور وہ دیکھ رہے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Or that have We created the angels as females, while they were present?
Arberry
Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses?
أَلَآ إِنَّهُم مِّنْ إِفْكِهِمْ لَيَقُولُونَ ﴿151﴾
Ahmed Ali
خبرادر! بے شک وہ اپنے جھوٹ سے کہتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Pay heed! It is their slander that they say. –
Arberry
Is it not of their own calumny that they say,
وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَكَٰذِبُونَ ﴿152﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہ الله کی اولاد ہے اور بے شک وہ جھوٹے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars.
Arberry
'God has begotten?' They are truly liars.
أَصْطَفَى ٱلْبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلْبَنِينَ ﴿153﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا اس نے بیٹیوں کو بیٹوں سے زیادہ پسند کیا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Has he chosen daughters instead of sons?”
Arberry
Has He chosen daughters above sons?
مَا لَكُمْ كَيْفَ تَحْكُمُونَ ﴿154﴾
Ahmed Ali
تمہیں کیا ہوا کیسا فیصلہ کرتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“What is the matter with you? What sort of a judgement you impose!”
Arberry
What ails you then, how you judge?
أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿155﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس کیا تم غور نہیں کرتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“So do you not ponder?”
Arberry
What, and will you not remember?
أَمْ لَكُمْ سُلْطَٰنٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ﴿156﴾
Ahmed Ali
یا تمہارے پاس کوئی واضح دلیل ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Or do you have some clear proof?”
Arberry
Or have you a clear authority?
فَأْتُوا۟ بِكِتَٰبِكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿157﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس اپنی کتاب لے آؤ اگر تم سچے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Then bring forth your Book, if you are truthful!”
Arberry
Bring your Book, if you speak truly!
وَجَعَلُوا۟ بَيْنَهُۥ وَبَيْنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًۭا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ ٱلْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ ﴿158﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انہوں نے اس کے اور جنّوں کے درمیان رشتہ قائم کر دیا ہے اور جنوں کو معلوم ہے کہ وہ ضرور حاضر کیے جائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they have appointed a relationship between Him and the jinns; and indeed the jinns surely know that they will be brought forth.
Arberry
They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned.
سُبْحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ﴿159﴾
Ahmed Ali
الله پا ک ہے ان باتو ں سے جو وہ بناتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate.
Arberry
Glory be to God above that they describe,
إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿160﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر الله کے خاص بندے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except the chosen bondmen of Allah.
Arberry
except for God's sincere servants.
فَإِنَّكُمْ وَمَا تَعْبُدُونَ ﴿161﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس بے شک تم اور جنہیں تم پوجتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
Therefore you and all what you worship. (The disbelievers and their deities.)
Arberry
But as for you, and that you serve,
مَآ أَنتُمْ عَلَيْهِ بِفَٰتِنِينَ ﴿162﴾
Ahmed Ali
کسی کو گمراہ نہیں کر سکتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
You cannot make anyone rebel against Him.
Arberry
you shall not tempt any against Him
إِلَّا مَنْ هُوَ صَالِ ٱلْجَحِيمِ ﴿163﴾
Ahmed Ali
مگر اسی کو جو دوزخ میں جانے والا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except the one who will go into the blazing fire.
Arberry
except him who shall roast in Hell.
وَمَا مِنَّآ إِلَّا لَهُۥ مَقَامٌۭ مَّعْلُومٌۭ ﴿164﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم میں سے کوئی بھی ایسا نہیں کہ جس کے لیے ایک درجہ معین نہ ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
And the angels say, “Each one of us has an appointed known position.”
Arberry
None of us is there, but has a known station;
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلصَّآفُّونَ ﴿165﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک ہم صف باندھے کھڑے رہنے والے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And indeed we, with our wings spread, await the command.”
Arberry
we are the rangers,
وَإِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْمُسَبِّحُونَ ﴿166﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک ہم ہی تسبیح کرنے والے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And indeed we are those who say His purity.”
Arberry
we are they that give glory.
وَإِن كَانُوا۟ لَيَقُولُونَ ﴿167﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور وہ تو کہا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed the disbelievers used to say, –
Arberry
What though they would say,
لَوْ أَنَّ عِندَنَا ذِكْرًۭا مِّنَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿168﴾
Ahmed Ali
اگر ہمارے پاس پہلے لوگوں کی کتاب ہوتی
Ahmed Raza Khan
“If we had some advice from the earlier generations,” –
Arberry
'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients,
لَكُنَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلْمُخْلَصِينَ ﴿169﴾
Ahmed Ali
تو ہم الله کے خالص بندے ہوتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“We would certainly be the chosen bondmen of Allah.”
Arberry
then were we God's sincere servants.'
فَكَفَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿170﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس انہوں نے اس کا انکار کیا سو وہ جان لیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know.
Arberry
But they disbelieved in it; soon they shall know!
وَلَقَدْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُنَا لِعِبَادِنَا ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿171﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہمارا حکم ہمارے بندوں کے حق میں جو رسول ہیں پہلے سے ہو چکا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent.
Arberry
Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys;
إِنَّهُمْ لَهُمُ ٱلْمَنصُورُونَ ﴿172﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک وہی مدد دیئے جائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
That undoubtedly, only they will be helped.
Arberry
assuredly they shall be helped,
وَإِنَّ جُندَنَا لَهُمُ ٱلْغَٰلِبُونَ ﴿173﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بےشک ہمارا لشکر ہی غالب رہے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And surely, only Our army will be victorious.
Arberry
and Our host -- they are the victors.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ ﴿174﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر آپ ان سے کچھ مدت تک منہ موڑ لیجیئے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Therefore turn away from them for some time.
Arberry
So turn thou from them for a while,
وَأَبْصِرْهُمْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿175﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انہیں دیکھتے رہیئے پس وہ بھی دیکھ لیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And watch them, for they will soon see.
Arberry
and see them; soon they shall see!
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ﴿176﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا وہ ہمارا عذاب جلدی مانگتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
So are they being impatient for Our punishment?
Arberry
What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement?
فَإِذَا نَزَلَ بِسَاحَتِهِمْ فَسَآءَ صَبَاحُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ ﴿177﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس جب ان کے میدان میں آ نازل ہوگا تو کیسی بری صبح ہو گی ان کی جو ڈرائے گئے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So when it does descend in their courtyards – so what an evil morning it will be for those who were warned!
Arberry
When it lights in their courtyard, how evil will be the morning of them that are warned!
وَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ ﴿178﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان سے کچھ مدت منہ موڑ لیجیئے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And turn away from them for some time.
Arberry
So turn thou from them for a while,
وَأَبْصِرْ فَسَوْفَ يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿179﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور دیکھتے رہیئےسو وہ بھی دیکھ لیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And wait, for they will soon see.
Arberry
and see; soon they shall see!
سُبْحَٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ ﴿180﴾
Ahmed Ali
آپ کا رب پاک ہے عزت کا مالک ان باتوں سے جو وہ بیان کرتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Purity is to your Lord, the Lord of Honour, from all what they say.
Arberry
Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe!
وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَى ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿181﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور رسولوں پر سلام ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
And peace is upon the Noble Messengers.
Arberry
And peace be upon the Envoys;
وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿182﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور سب تعریف الله کے لیے ہے جو سارے جہان کا رب ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation.
Arberry
and praise belongs to God, the Lord of all Being.
