تَنزِيلُ ٱلْكِتَٰبِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِن رَّبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ ﴿2﴾

اس میں کچھ شک نہیں کہ یہ کتاب جہان کے پالنے والے کی طرف سے نازل ہوئی ہے

The revelation of the Book is, without doubt, from the Lord Of The Creation.
Arberry
The sending down of the Book, wherein no doubt is, from the Lord of all Being.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ ۚ بَلْ هُوَ ٱلْحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍۢ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ ﴿3﴾

کیا وہ کہتے ہیں کہ اس نے خود بنائی ہے بلکہ یہ سچی کتاب تیرے رب کی طرف سے ہے تاکہ تو اس قوم کوڈرائے جن کے پاس تجھ سے پہلے کوئی ڈرانے والا نہیں آیا تاکہ وہ راہ پر آئيں

What! They dare say that, “He has fabricated it”? In fact it is the Truth from your Lord, in order that you warn a nation towards whom no Herald of Warning came before you, in the hope of their attaining guidance.
Arberry
Or do they say, 'He has forged it'? Say: 'Not so; it is the truth from thy Lord that thou mayest warn a people to whom no warner came before thee, that haply so they may be guided.
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ۖ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ مِن وَلِىٍّۢ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ ﴿4﴾

الله وہ ہے جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو اورجو کچھ ان میں ہے چھ روز میں بنایا پھر عرش پر قائم ہوا تمہارے لیے اس کے سوا نہ کوئی کارساز ہے نہ سفارشی پھر کیا تم نہیں سمجھتے

It is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth, and all what is between them, in six days, then (befitting His Majesty) established Himself over the Throne (of control); leaving Allah, there is neither a friend nor an intercessor for you; so do you not ponder?
Arberry
God is He that created the heavens and the earth, and what between them is, in six days, then seated Himself upon the Throne. Apart from Him, you have no protector neither mediator; will you not remember?
يُدَبِّرُ ٱلْأَمْرَ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ يَعْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ فِى يَوْمٍۢ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُۥٓ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍۢ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ ﴿5﴾

وہ آسمان سے لے کر زمین تک ہر کام کی تدبیر کرتا ہے پھراس دن بھی جس کی مقدار تمہاری گنتی سے ہزار برس ہو گی وہ انتظام اس کی طرف رجوع کرے گا

He plans (all) the job(s) from the heaven to the earth – then it will return to Him on the Day which amounts to a thousand years in your count.
Arberry
He directs the affair from heaven to earth, then it goes up to Him in one day, whose measure is a thousand years of your counting.
ذَٰلِكَ عَٰلِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ﴿6﴾

وہی چھپی اور کھلی بات کا جاننے والا زبردست مہربان ہے

This is the All Knowing – of all the hidden and the visible, the Most Honourable, the Most Merciful.
Arberry
He is the knower of the Unseen and the Visible, the All-mighty, the All-compassionate,
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقَهُۥ ۖ وَبَدَأَ خَلْقَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنِ مِن طِينٍۢ ﴿7﴾

جس نے جو چیز بنائی خوب بنائی اور انسان کی پیدائش مٹی سے شروع کی
Ahmed Raza Khan
The One Who created all things excellent, and Who initiated the creation of man from clay.
Arberry
who has created all things well. And He originated the creation of man out of clay,
ثُمَّ جَعَلَ نَسْلَهُۥ مِن سُلَٰلَةٍۢ مِّن مَّآءٍۢ مَّهِينٍۢ ﴿8﴾

پھر اس کی اولاد نچڑے ہوئے حقیر پانی سے بنائی

Then kept his posterity with a part of an abject fluid.
Arberry
then He fashioned his progeny of an extraction of mean water,
ثُمَّ سَوَّىٰهُ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ مِن رُّوحِهِۦ ۖ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَٱلْأَبْصَٰرَ وَٱلْأَفْـِٔدَةَ ۚ قَلِيلًۭا مَّا تَشْكُرُونَ ﴿9﴾

پھراس کے اعضا درست کیے اور اس میں اپنی روح پھونکی اور تمہارے لیے کان اور آنکھیں اور دل بنایا تم بہت تھوڑا شکر کرتے ہو

Then made him proper and blew into him a spirit from Him, and bestowed ears and eyes and hearts to you; very little thanks do you offer!
Arberry
then He shaped him, and breathed His spirit in him. And He appointed for you hearing, and sight, and hearts; little thanks you show.
وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَءِذَا ضَلَلْنَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ أَءِنَّا لَفِى خَلْقٍۢ جَدِيدٍۭ ۚ بَلْ هُم بِلِقَآءِ رَبِّهِمْ كَٰفِرُونَ ﴿10﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہم جب زمین میں نیست و نابود ہو گئے تو کیا پھر نئے سرے سے پیدا ہوں گے بلکہ وہ اپنے رب سے ملنے کے منکر ہیں

And they said, “When we have mingled into the earth, will we be created again?”; in fact they disbelieve in the meeting with their Lord.
Arberry
They say, 'What, when we have gone astray in the earth, shall we indeed be in a new creation?' Nay, but they disbelieve in the encounter with their Lord.
۞ قُلْ يَتَوَفَّىٰكُم مَّلَكُ ٱلْمَوْتِ ٱلَّذِى وُكِّلَ بِكُمْ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكُمْ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿11﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہہ دو تمہاری جان موت کا وہ فرشتہ قبض کرے گا جو تم پر مقرر کیا گیا ہے پھر تم اپنے رب کے پاس لوٹائے جاؤ گے

Proclaim, “The angel of death, who is appointed over you, causes you to die and then towards your Lord you will return.”
Arberry
Say: 'Death's angel, who has been charged with you, shall gather you, then to your Lord you shall be returned.'
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذِ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُوا۟ رُءُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَآ أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَٱرْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَٰلِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ ﴿12﴾

اور کبھی تو دیکھے جس وقت منکر اپنے رب کے سامنے سر جھکائے ہوئے ہوں گے اے رب ہمارے ہم نے دیکھ اور سن لیا اب ہمیں پھر بھیج دے کہ اچھے کام کریں ہمیں یقین آ گیا ہے

And if you see when the guilty will hang their heads before their Lord; “Our Lord! We have seen and heard, therefore send us back in order that we do good deeds – we are now convinced!”
Arberry
Ah, if thou couldst see the guilty hanging their heads before their Lord! 'Our Lord, we have seen and heard; now return us, that we may do righteousness, for we have sure faith.'
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَءَاتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَىٰهَا وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ مِنِّى لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ ﴿13﴾

اور اگر ہم چاہتے ہیں تو ہر شخص کو ہدایت پر لے آتے لیکن ہماری بات پوری ہو کر رہی کہ ہم جنوں اور آدمیوں سے جہنم بھر کر رہیں گے

And had We willed We would have given every soul its guidance, but My Word is decreed that I will certainly fill hell with these jinns and men, combined.
Arberry
'If We had so willed, We could have given every soul its guidance; but now My Word is realized -- " Assuredly I shall fill Gehenna with jinn and men all together."
فَذُوقُوا۟ بِمَا نَسِيتُمْ لِقَآءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَآ إِنَّا نَسِينَٰكُمْ ۖ وَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلْخُلْدِ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿14﴾

تو اب اس کا مزہ چکھو کہ تم اپنے اس دن کے آنے کو بھول گئے تھے ہم نے تمہیں بھلا دیا اور اپنے کیے کے بدلہ میں ہمیشہ کا عذاب چکھو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Therefore taste the recompense of your forgetting the confronting of this day of yours; We have abandoned you – now taste the everlasting punishment, the recompense of your deeds!”
Arberry
So now taste, for that you forgot the encounter of this your day! We indeed have forgotten you. Taste the chastisement of eternity for that you were doing!'
إِنَّمَا يُؤْمِنُ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِهَا خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًۭا وَسَبَّحُوا۟ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّهِمْ وَهُمْ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ ۩ ﴿15﴾

بس ہماری آیتوں پر وہ ایمان لاتے ہیں کہ جب انہیں وہ آیتیں یاد دلائی جاتی ہیں تو وہ سجدہ میں گر پڑتے ہیں اور اپنے رب کی حمد کے ساتھ تسبیح بیان کرتے ہیں اور وہ تکبر نہیں کرتے

Only those believe in Our signs who, when they are reminded of them, fall down in prostration and proclaim the Purity of their Lord while praising Him, and are not conceited. (Command of prostration # 9).
Arberry
Only those believe in Our signs who, when they are reminded of them, fall down prostrate and proclaim the praise of their Lord, not waxing proud.
تَتَجَافَىٰ جُنُوبُهُمْ عَنِ ٱلْمَضَاجِعِ يَدْعُونَ رَبَّهُمْ خَوْفًۭا وَطَمَعًۭا وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَٰهُمْ يُنفِقُونَ ﴿16﴾

اپنے بستروں سے اٹھ کر اپنے رب کو خوف اور امید سے پکارتے ہیں اور ہمارے دیئے میں سے کچھ خرچ بھی کرتے ہیں

Their sides stay detached from their beds and they pray to their Lord with fear and hope – and they spend from what We have bestowed upon them.
Arberry
Their sides shun their couches as they call on their Lord in fear and hope; and they expend of that We have provided them.
فَلَا تَعْلَمُ نَفْسٌۭ مَّآ أُخْفِىَ لَهُم مِّن قُرَّةِ أَعْيُنٍۢ جَزَآءًۢ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿17﴾

پھر کوئی شخص نہیں جانتا کہ ان کے عمل کے بدلہ میں ان کی آنکھو ں کی کیا ٹھنڈک چھپا رکھی ہے

So no soul knows the comfort of the eyes that is kept hidden for them*; the reward of their deeds. (Paradise)
Arberry
No soul knows what comfort is laid up for them secretly, as a recompense for that they were doing.
أَفَمَن كَانَ مُؤْمِنًۭا كَمَن كَانَ فَاسِقًۭا ۚ لَّا يَسْتَوُۥنَ ﴿18﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا مومن اس کے برابر ہے جو نا فرمان ہو برابر نہیں ہو سکتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So will the believer ever be equal to the one who is lawless? They are not equal!
Arberry
What? Is he who has been a believer like unto him who has been ungodly? They are not equal.
أَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ فَلَهُمْ جَنَّٰتُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰ نُزُلًۢا بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿19﴾
Ahmed Ali
سو وہ لوگ جو ایمان لائے اور اچھے کام کیے تو ان کے ان کاموں کے سبب جو وہ کیا کرتے تھے مہمانی میں ہمیشہ رہنے کے باغ ہیں

Those who accepted faith and did good deeds – for them are the Gardens of (everlasting) stay; a welcome in return for what they did.
Arberry
As for those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, there await them the Gardens of the Refuge, in hospitality for that they were doing.
وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِينَ فَسَقُوا۟ فَمَأْوَىٰهُمُ ٱلنَّارُ ۖ كُلَّمَآ أَرَادُوٓا۟ أَن يَخْرُجُوا۟ مِنْهَآ أُعِيدُوا۟ فِيهَا وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ ذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلَّذِى كُنتُم بِهِۦ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿20﴾

اور جنہوں نے نافرمانی کی ان کا ٹھکانا آگ ہے جب وہاں سے نکلنے کا ارداہ کریں گے تو اس میں پھر لوٹا دیئے جائیں گے اور انہیں کہا جائے گا آگ کا وہ عذاب چکھو جسے تم جھٹلایا کرتے تھے

And those who are lawless – their destination is the fire; whenever they wish to come out of it, they will be returned into it, and it will be said to them, “Taste the punishment of the fire you used to deny!”
Arberry
But as for the ungodly, their refuge shall be the Fire; as often as they desire to come forth from it, they shall be restored into it, and it shall be said to them, 'Taste the chastisement of the Fire, which you cried lies to.'
وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَدْنَىٰ دُونَ ٱلْعَذَابِ ٱلْأَكْبَرِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿21﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم انہیں قریب کا عذاب بھی اس بڑے عذاب سے پہلے چکھائیں گے تاکہ وہ باز آ جائیں

And We shall indeed make them taste the smaller punishment before the greater punishment, so that they may return.
Arberry
And We shall surely let them taste the nearer chastisement, before the greater; haply so they will return.
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِ رَبِّهِۦ ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَآ ۚ إِنَّا مِنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنتَقِمُونَ ﴿22﴾

اوراس سے بڑھ کر کون ظالم ہوگا جسے اس کے رب کی آیتوں سے سمجھایا جائے پھر وہ ان سے منہ موڑے ہمیں تو گنہگاروں سے بدلہ لینا ہے

And who is more unjust than one who is preached to from the verses his Lord, then he turns away from them? We will indeed take revenge from the guilty.
Arberry
And who does greater evil than he who is reminded of the signs of his Lord, then turns away from them? We shall take vengeance upon the sinners.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَٰبَ فَلَا تَكُن فِى مِرْيَةٍۢ مِّن لِّقَآئِهِۦ ۖ وَجَعَلْنَٰهُ هُدًۭى لِّبَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ﴿23﴾

اور البتہ ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب دی تھی پھر آپ اس کے ملنے میں شک نہ کریں اور ہم نے ہی اسے بنی اسرائیل کے لیے راہ نما بنایا تھا

And indeed We bestowed the Book to Moosa, therefore have no doubt in its acquisition, and made it a guidance for the Descendants of Israel.
Arberry
Indeed, We gave Moses the Book; so he not in doubt concerning the encounter with him; and We appointed it for a guidance to the Children of Israel.
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ أَئِمَّةًۭ يَهْدُونَ بِأَمْرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُوا۟ ۖ وَكَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ ﴿24﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ان میں سے پیشوا بنائے تھے جو ہمارے حکم سے رہنمائی کرتے تھے جب انہوں نے صبر کیا تھا اور وہ ہماری آیتوں پر یقین بھی رکھتے تھے

And We made some leaders among them, guiding by Our command, when they had persevered; and they used to accept faith in Our signs.
Arberry
And We appointed from among them leaders guiding by Our command, when they endured patiently, and had sure faith in Our signs.
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فِيمَا كَانُوا۟ فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ ﴿25﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک تیرا رب ہی قیامت کے دن ان میں فیصلہ کرے گا جس بات میں وہ اختلاف کرتے تھے

Indeed your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection concerning the matters in which they used to differ.
Arberry
Surely thy Lord will distinguish between them on the Resurrection Day, touching that whereon they were at variance.
أَوَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِى مَسَٰكِنِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَءَايَٰتٍ ۖ أَفَلَا يَسْمَعُونَ ﴿26﴾

کیا انھیں اس سے بھی رہنمائی نہ ہوئی کہ ان سے پہلے ہم نے کتنی جماعتیں ہلاک کر دی ہیں جن کے گھروں میں یہ چلتے پھرتے ہیں بے شک اس میں بڑی نشانیاں ہیں پھر کیا وہ سنتے بھی نہیں

And did they not obtain guidance by the fact that We did destroy many generations before them, so now they walk in their houses? Indeed in this are signs; so do they not heed?
Arberry
Is it not a guidance to them, how many generations We destroyed before them in whose dwelling-places they walk? Surely in that are signs; what, will they not hear?
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا نَسُوقُ ٱلْمَآءَ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ ٱلْجُرُزِ فَنُخْرِجُ بِهِۦ زَرْعًۭا تَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ أَنْعَٰمُهُمْ وَأَنفُسُهُمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿27﴾

کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم پانی کو خشک زمین کی طرف رواں کر کے ا س سے کھیتی نکالتے ہیں جس سے ان کے چار پائے اوروہ خود بھی کھاتے ہیں پھر کیا وہ دیکھتے نہیں

And do they not see that We send the water to the barren land and produce crops with it, so their animals and they themselves eat from it? So do they not perceive?
Arberry
Have they not seen how We drive the water to the dry land and bring forth crops therewith whereof their cattle and themselves eat? What, will they not see?
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْفَتْحُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿28﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کہتے ہیں کہ اگر تم سچے ہو تو یہ فیصلہ کب ہوگا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they say, “When will this decision take place, if you are truthful?”
Arberry
They also say, 'When shall be this Victory, if you speak truly?'
قُلْ يَوْمَ ٱلْفَتْحِ لَا يَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِيمَٰنُهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ ﴿29﴾

کہہ دو کہ فیصلہ کا دن کافرو ں کو ان کا ایمان لانا نفع نہ دے گا اور نہ ہی انہیں مہلت دی جائے گی

Proclaim, “On the Day of Decision*, the disbelievers will not benefit from their accepting faith, nor will they get respite.” (* Of death or of resurrection)
Arberry
Say: 'On the Day of Victory their faith shall not profit the unbelievers, nor shall they be respited.'
فَأَعْرِضْ عَنْهُمْ وَٱنتَظِرْ إِنَّهُم مُّنتَظِرُونَ ﴿30﴾

سو ان سے کنارہ کر اور انتظار کر وہ بھی انتظار کر رہے ہیں

Therefore turn away from them and wait – indeed they too have to wait.
Arberry
So turn thou away from them, and wait; they too are waiting.
