ذِكْرُ رَحْمَتِ رَبِّكَ عَبْدَهُۥ زَكَرِيَّآ ﴿2﴾
Ahmed Ali
یہ تیرے رب کی مہربانی کا ذکر ہے جو اس کے بندے زکریا پر ہوئی
Ahmed Raza Khan
This is the remembrance of the mercy of your Lord upon His bondman Zakaria.
Arberry
The mention of thy Lord's mercy unto His servant Zachariah;
إِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ نِدَآءً خَفِيًّۭا ﴿3﴾

جب اس نے اپنے رب کو خفیہ آواز سے پکارا

When he softly prayed to his Lord.

when he called upon his Lord secretly
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى وَهَنَ ٱلْعَظْمُ مِنِّى وَٱشْتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأْسُ شَيْبًۭا وَلَمْ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَآئِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّۭا ﴿4﴾

کہا اے میرے رب میری ہڈیاں کمزور ہو گئی ہیں اور سر میں بڑھاپا چمکنے لگا ہے او رمیرے رب تجھ سے مانگ کر میں کبھی محروم نہیں ہوا

He submitted, “O my Lord – my bones have become weak and old age shines forth from my head, and O my Lord, I have never been disappointed in my prayer to you.”
Arberry
saying, 'O my Lord, behold the bones within me are feeble and my head is all aflame with hoariness. And in calling on Thee, my Lord, I have never been hitherto unprosperous.
وَإِنِّى خِفْتُ ٱلْمَوَٰلِىَ مِن وَرَآءِى وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا فَهَبْ لِى مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّۭا ﴿5﴾

اور بے شک میں اپنے بعد اپنے رشتہ داروں سے ڈرتا ہوں اور میری بیوی بانجھ ہے پس تو اپنے ہاں سے ایک وارث عطا کر

“And I fear my relatives after me and my wife is barren therefore bestow upon me from Yourself one who will take up my work.”
Arberry
And now I fear my kinsfolk after I am gone; and my wife is barren. So give me, from Thee, a kinsman
يَرِثُنِى وَيَرِثُ مِنْ ءَالِ يَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَٱجْعَلْهُ رَبِّ رَضِيًّۭا ﴿6﴾

جو میرا اور یعقوب کے خاندان کا بھی وارث ہو اور میرے رب اسے پسندیدہ بنا
Ahmed Raza Khan
“He being my successor and the heir of the Descendants of Yaqub (Jacob); and my Lord, make him a cherished* one.” (* Make him a Prophet among the Descendants of Israel.)
Arberry
who shall be my inheritor and the inheritor of the House of Jacob; and make him, my Lord, well-pleasing.'
يَٰزَكَرِيَّآ إِنَّا نُبَشِّرُكَ بِغُلَٰمٍ ٱسْمُهُۥ يَحْيَىٰ لَمْ نَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مِن قَبْلُ سَمِيًّۭا ﴿7﴾

اے زکریا بے شک ہم تجھے ایک لڑکے کی خوشخبری دیتے ہیں جس کا نام یحییٰ ہوگا اس سےپہلے ہم نے اس نام کا کوئی پیدا نہیں کیا

“O Zakaria! We give you the glad tidings of a son whose name is Yahya (John) – before him, We have not created anyone of this name.”
Arberry
'O Zachariah, We give thee good tidings of a boy, whose name is John. No namesake have We given him aforetime.'
قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَكَانَتِ ٱمْرَأَتِى عَاقِرًۭا وَقَدْ بَلَغْتُ مِنَ ٱلْكِبَرِ عِتِيًّۭا ﴿8﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا اے میرے رب میرے لیے لڑکا کہاں سے ہوگا حالانکہ میری بیوی بانجھ ہے اور میں بڑھاپے میں انتہائی درجہ کو پہنچ گیا ہوں

He submitted, “My Lord – how can I have a son whereas my wife is barren and I have reached infirmity due to old age?”
Arberry
He said, 'O my Lord, how shall I have a son, seeing my wife is barren, and I have attained to the declining of old age?'
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكَ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌۭ وَقَدْ خَلَقْتُكَ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ تَكُ شَيْـًۭٔا ﴿9﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا ایسا ہی ہوگا تیرے رب نے کہاہے وہ مجھ پر آسان ہے اور میں نے تجھے اس سے پہلے پیدا کیا حالانکہ تو کوئی چیز نہ تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
He (the angel) said, “So it is; your Lord says, ‘This is easy for Me – in fact I created you before this, at a time when you did not exist.’”
Arberry
Said He, 'So it shall be; thy Lord says, "Easy is that for Me, seeing that I created thee aforetime, when thou wast nothing."'
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجْعَل لِّىٓ ءَايَةًۭ ۚ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَ لَيَالٍۢ سَوِيًّۭا ﴿10﴾

کہا اے میرے رب میرے لئےکوئی نشانی مقرر کر کہا تیری نشانی یہ ہے کہ توتین رات تک مسلسل لوگوں سے بات نہیں کر سکے گا

He said, “My Lord, give me a sign”; He said, “Your token is that you will not speak to people for three nights, although in proper health.”
Arberry
He said, 'Lord, appoint to me some sign.' Said He, 'Thy sign is that thou shall not speak to men, though being without fault, three nights.'
فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلْمِحْرَابِ فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِمْ أَن سَبِّحُوا۟ بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا ﴿11﴾

پھر حجرہ سے نکل کر اپنی قوم کے پاس آئے اور انہیں اشارہ سے کہا کہ تم صبح و شام خدا کی تسبیح کیا کرو

He therefore emerged upon his people from the mosque, and told them through gestures, “Keep proclaiming the Purity (of your Lord) morning and evening.”
Arberry
So he came forth unto his people from the Sanctuary, then he made signal to them, 'Give you glory at dawn and evening.'
يَٰيَحْيَىٰ خُذِ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ بِقُوَّةٍۢ ۖ وَءَاتَيْنَٰهُ ٱلْحُكْمَ صَبِيًّۭا ﴿12﴾

اے یحییٰ کتاب کو مضبوطی سے پکڑ اور ہم نے اسےبچپن ہی میں حکمت عطا کی
Ahmed Raza Khan
“O Yahya – hold the Book firmly”; and We gave him Prophethood in his infancy. (Prophet Yahya was only 2 years old at that time.)
Arberry
'O John, take the Book forcefully'; and We gave him judgment, yet a little child,
وَحَنَانًۭا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَزَكَوٰةًۭ ۖ وَكَانَ تَقِيًّۭا ﴿13﴾

اور اسے اپنے ہاں سے رحم دلی او رپاکیز گی عنایت کی اور وہ پرہیز گار تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And compassion from Ourselves, and chastity; and he was extremely pious.
Arberry
and a tenderness from Us, and purity; and he was godfearing,
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ وَلَمْ يَكُن جَبَّارًا عَصِيًّۭا ﴿14﴾

اور اپنے ماں باپ کے ساتھ نیک سلوک کرنے والا اور سرکش نافرمان نہ تھا

And was good to his parents and not forceful, nor disobedient.
Arberry
and cherishing his parents, not arrogant, rebellious.
وَسَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ وَيَوْمَ يَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ يُبْعَثُ حَيًّۭا ﴿15﴾

اور اس پر سلام ہو جس دن وہ پیدا ہوا اور جس دن مرے گا اور جس دن وہ زندہ کرکے اٹھایا جائے گا

And peace is upon him the day he was born, and the day he will taste death, and the day he will be raised alive.
Arberry
'Peace be upon him, the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the day he is raised up alive!'
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مَرْيَمَ إِذِ ٱنتَبَذَتْ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا مَكَانًۭا شَرْقِيًّۭا ﴿16﴾

اور اس کتاب میں مریم کا ذکر کر جب کہ وہ اپنے لوگوں سے علیحدہ ہو کر مشرقی مقام میں جا بیٹھی

And remember Maryam in the Book; when she went away from her family to a place towards east.
Arberry
And mention in the Book Mary when she withdrew from her people to an eastern place,
فَٱتَّخَذَتْ مِن دُونِهِمْ حِجَابًۭا فَأَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهَا رُوحَنَا فَتَمَثَّلَ لَهَا بَشَرًۭا سَوِيًّۭا ﴿17﴾

پھر لوگوں کے سامنے سے پردہ ڈال لیا پھر ہم نے اس کے پاس اپنے فرشتے کو بھیجا پھر وہ اس کے سامنے پورا آدمی بن کر ظاہر ہوا

So there she screened herself from them; We therefore sent Our Spirit towards her – he appeared before her in the form of a healthy man. (Angel Jibreel – peace be upon him.)

and she took a veil apart from them; then We sent unto her Our Spirit that presented himself to her a man without fault.
قَالَتْ إِنِّىٓ أَعُوذُ بِٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ مِنكَ إِن كُنتَ تَقِيًّۭا ﴿18﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا بے شک میں تجھ سے الله کی پناہ مانگتی ہوں اگر تو پرہیزگار ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
She said, “I seek the refuge of the Most Gracious from you – if you fear God.”
Arberry
She said, 'I take refuge in the All-merciful from thee!
قَالَ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ رَسُولُ رَبِّكِ لِأَهَبَ لَكِ غُلَٰمًۭا زَكِيًّۭا ﴿19﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا میں تو بس تیرے رب کا بھیجا ہوا ہوں تاکہ تجھے پاکیزہ لڑکا دوں
Ahmed Raza Khan
He said, “I am indeed one sent by your Lord; so that I may give you a chaste son.”
Arberry
If thou fearest God... He said, 'I am but a messenger come from thy Lord, to give thee a boy most pure.
قَالَتْ أَنَّىٰ يَكُونُ لِى غُلَٰمٌۭ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِى بَشَرٌۭ وَلَمْ أَكُ بَغِيًّۭا ﴿20﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا میرے لیے لڑکا کہاں سے ہوگا حالانکہ مجھے کسی آدمی نے ہاتھ نہیں لگایا اور نہ میں بدکار ہوں

She said, “How can I bear a son? No man has ever touched me, nor am I of poor conduct!”
Arberry
She said, 'How shall I have a son whom no mortal has touched, neither have I been unchaste?'
قَالَ كَذَٰلِكِ قَالَ رَبُّكِ هُوَ عَلَىَّ هَيِّنٌۭ ۖ وَلِنَجْعَلَهُۥٓ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلنَّاسِ وَرَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا ۚ وَكَانَ أَمْرًۭا مَّقْضِيًّۭا ﴿21﴾

کہا ایسا ہی ہوگا تیرے رب نے کہا ہے وہ مجھ پر آسان ہے اور تاکہ ہم اسے لوگوں کے لیے نشانی اور اپنی طرف سے رحمت بنائیں اور یہ بات طے ہو چکی ہے

He said, “So it is; your Lord has said, ‘This is easy for Me’; and in order that We make him a sign for mankind and a Mercy from Us; and this matter has been decreed.”
Arberry
He said, 'Even so thy Lord has said: "Easy is that for Me; and that We may appoint him a sign unto men and a mercy from Us; it is a thing decreed."'
۞ فَحَمَلَتْهُ فَٱنتَبَذَتْ بِهِۦ مَكَانًۭا قَصِيًّۭا ﴿22﴾

پھر اس (بچہ کے ساتھ) حاملہ ہوئی پھر اسے لے کر کسی دور جگہ میں چلی گئی

So she conceived him, and she went away with him to a far place.
Arberry
So she conceived him, and withdrew with him to a distant place.
فَأَجَآءَهَا ٱلْمَخَاضُ إِلَىٰ جِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ قَالَتْ يَٰلَيْتَنِى مِتُّ قَبْلَ هَٰذَا وَكُنتُ نَسْيًۭا مَّنسِيًّۭا ﴿23﴾

پھر اسے درد زہ ایک کھجور کی جڑ میں لے آیا کہا اے افسوس میں اس سے پہلے مرگئی ہوتی اور میں بھولی بھلائی ہوتی

Then the pangs of childbirth brought her to the base of the palm-tree; she said, “Oh, if only had I died before this and had become forgotten, unremembered.”
Arberry
And the birthpangs surprised her by the trunk of the palm-tree. She said, 'Would I had died ere this, and become a thing forgotten!'
فَنَادَىٰهَا مِن تَحْتِهَآ أَلَّا تَحْزَنِى قَدْ جَعَلَ رَبُّكِ تَحْتَكِ سَرِيًّۭا ﴿24﴾

پھر اسے اس کے نیچے سے پکارا کہ غم نہ کر تیرے رب نے تیرے نیچے سے ایک چشمہ پیدا کر دیا

(The angel) Therefore called her from below her, “Do not grieve – your Lord has made a river flow below you.”
Arberry
But the one that was below her called to her, 'Nay, do not sorrow; see, thy Lord has set below thee a rivulet.
وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًۭا جَنِيًّۭا ﴿25﴾

اورتو کھجور کے تنہ کو پکڑ کر اپنی طرف ہلا تجھ پر پکی تازہ کھجوریں گریں گی

“And shake the trunk of the palm-tree towards you – ripe fresh dates will fall upon you.” (This was a miracle – the date palm was dry and it was winter season.)

Shake also to thee the palm-trunk, and there shall come tumbling upon thee dates fresh and ripe.
فَكُلِى وَٱشْرَبِى وَقَرِّى عَيْنًۭا ۖ فَإِمَّا تَرَيِنَّ مِنَ ٱلْبَشَرِ أَحَدًۭا فَقُولِىٓ إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ صَوْمًۭا فَلَنْ أُكَلِّمَ ٱلْيَوْمَ إِنسِيًّۭا ﴿26﴾

سوکھا اور پی اور آنکھ ٹھنڈی کر پھر اگر تو کوئی آدمی دیکھے تو کہہ دے کہ میں نے رحمان کے لیے روزہ کی نذر مانی ہے سو آج میں کسی انسان سے بات نہیں کروں گی

“Therefore eat and drink and appease your eyes; so if you meet any person then say, ‘I have pledged a fast (of silence) to the Most Gracious – I will therefore not speak to any person today.’”
Arberry
Eat therefore, and drink, and be comforted; and if thou shouldst see any mortal, say, "I have vowed to the All-merciful a fast, and today I will not speak to any man.
فَأَتَتْ بِهِۦ قَوْمَهَا تَحْمِلُهُۥ ۖ قَالُوا۟ يَٰمَرْيَمُ لَقَدْ جِئْتِ شَيْـًۭٔا فَرِيًّۭا ﴿27﴾

پھر وہ اسے قوم کے پا س اٹھا کر لائی انہوں نے کہا اے مریم البتہ تو نے عجیب بات کر دکھائی

So carrying him in her arms, she brought him to her people; they said, “O Maryam, you have indeed committed a great evil!”
Arberry
Then she brought the child to her folk carrying him; and they said, 'Mary, thou hast surely committed a monstrous thing!
يَٰٓأُخْتَ هَٰرُونَ مَا كَانَ أَبُوكِ ٱمْرَأَ سَوْءٍۢ وَمَا كَانَتْ أُمُّكِ بَغِيًّۭا ﴿28﴾

اے ہارون کی بہن نہ تو تیرا باپ ہی برا آدمی تھا اور نہ ہی تیری ماں بدکار تھی

“O sister of Haroon, neither was your father an evil man nor was your mother of poor conduct!”
Arberry
Sister of Aaron, thy father was not a wicked man, nor was thy mother a woman unchaste.'
فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَيْهِ ۖ قَالُوا۟ كَيْفَ نُكَلِّمُ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلْمَهْدِ صَبِيًّۭا ﴿29﴾

تب اس نے لڑکے کی طرف اشارہ کیا انہوں نے کہا ہم پنگوڑھے والے بچے سے کیسے بات کریں

Thereupon she pointed towards the child; they said, “How can we speak to an infant who is in the cradle?”
Arberry
Mary pointed to the child then; but they said, 'How shall we speak to one who is still in the cradle, a little child?'
قَالَ إِنِّى عَبْدُ ٱللَّهِ ءَاتَىٰنِىَ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ وَجَعَلَنِى نَبِيًّۭا ﴿30﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا بے شک میں الله کا بندہ ہوں مجھےاس نے کتاب دی ہے اور مجھے نبی بنایا ہے

The child proclaimed, “I am Allah’s bondman; He has given me the Book and made me a Herald of the Hidden (a Prophet).”
Arberry
He said, 'Lo, I am God's servant; God has given me the Book, and made me a Prophet.
وَجَعَلَنِى مُبَارَكًا أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُ وَأَوْصَٰنِى بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ مَا دُمْتُ حَيًّۭا ﴿31﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور مجھے با برکت بنایاہے جہاں کہیں ہوں اور مجھے کو نماز اور زکواة کی وصیت کی ہے جب تک میں زندہ ہوں

“And He has made me blessed wherever I be; and ordained upon me prayer and charity, as long as I live.”
Arberry
Blessed He has made me, wherever I may be; and He has enjoined me to pray, and to give the alms, so long as I live,
وَبَرًّۢا بِوَٰلِدَتِى وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْنِى جَبَّارًۭا شَقِيًّۭا ﴿32﴾

اور اپنی ماں کے ساتھ نیکی کرنے والا اور مجھے سرکش بدبخت نہیں بنایا

“And has made me good to my mother and not made me forceful, ill-fated.”
Arberry
and likewise to cherish my mother; He has not made me arrogant, unprosperous.
وَٱلسَّلَٰمُ عَلَىَّ يَوْمَ وُلِدتُّ وَيَوْمَ أَمُوتُ وَيَوْمَ أُبْعَثُ حَيًّۭا ﴿33﴾

اور مجھ پر سلام ہے جس دن میں پیدا ہوا اور جس دن مروں گا اور جس دن زندہ کر کے اٹھایا جاؤں گا

“And peace is upon me the day I was born, and on the day I shall taste death, and on the day I will be raised alive.”
Arberry
Peace be upon me, the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I am raised up alive!'
ذَٰلِكَ عِيسَى ٱبْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۚ قَوْلَ ٱلْحَقِّ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يَمْتَرُونَ ﴿34﴾

یہ عیسیٰ مریم کا بیٹا ہے سچی بات جس میں وہ جھگڑ رہے ہیں

This is Eisa (Jesus), the son of Maryam; a true statement, in which they doubt.
Arberry
That is Jesus, son of Mary, in word of truth, concerning which they are doubting.
مَا كَانَ لِلَّهِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ مِن وَلَدٍۢ ۖ سُبْحَٰنَهُۥٓ ۚ إِذَا قَضَىٰٓ أَمْرًۭا فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ﴿35﴾

الله کی شان نہیں کہ وہ کسی کو بیٹا بنائے وہ پاک ہے جب کسی کام کا فیصلہ کرتا ہے توصرف اسے کن کہتا ہے پھر وہ ہو جاتا ہے

It does not befit Allah to appoint someone as His son – Purity is to Him! When He ordains a matter, He just commands it, “Be” – and it thereupon happens.
Arberry
It is not for God to take a son unto Him. Glory be to Him! When He decrees a thing, He but says to it 'Be,' and it is.
وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ رَبِّى وَرَبُّكُمْ فَٱعْبُدُوهُ ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ ﴿36﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور بے شک الله تعالیٰ میرا اور تمہارا رب ہے سواسی کی عبادت کرو یہ سیدھا راستہ ہے

And said Eisa, “Indeed Allah is my Lord and your Lord – therefore worship Him; this is the Straight Path.”
Arberry
Surely God is my Lord, and your Lord; So serve you Him. This is a straight path.
فَٱخْتَلَفَ ٱلْأَحْزَابُ مِنۢ بَيْنِهِمْ ۖ فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن مَّشْهَدِ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿37﴾

پھر جماعتیں آپس میں مختلف ہو گئیں سوکافروں کے لیے ایک بڑے دن کے آنے سے خرابی ہے

Then groups among them differed; so ruin is for the disbelievers from the witnessing of a Great Day.
Arberry
But the parties have fallen into variance among themselves; then woe to those who disbelieve for the scene of a dreadful day.
أَسْمِعْ بِهِمْ وَأَبْصِرْ يَوْمَ يَأْتُونَنَا ۖ لَٰكِنِ ٱلظَّٰلِمُونَ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ﴿38﴾

کیا خوب سنتے اور دیکھتے ہوں گے جس دن ہمارے پاس آئیں گے لیکن ظالم آج صریح گمراہی میں ہیں

Much will they listen and much will they see, on the Day when they come to Us, but today the unjust are in open error.
Arberry
How well they will hear and see on the day they come to Us! But the evildoers even today are in error manifest.
وَأَنذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ ٱلْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِىَ ٱلْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِى غَفْلَةٍۢ وَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿39﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انہیں حسرت کے دن سے ڈرا جس دن سارے معاملہ کا فیصلہ ہوگا اور وہ غفلت میں ہیں او رایمان نہیں لاتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And warn them of the Day of Regret when the matter will have been decided; and they are in neglect, and they do not accept faith.
Arberry
Warn thou them of the day of anguish, when the matter shall be determined, and they yet heedless and unbelieving.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَرِثُ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَنْ عَلَيْهَا وَإِلَيْنَا يُرْجَعُونَ ﴿40﴾

بے شک ہم ہی زمین کے وارث ہوں گے اور ان کے بھی جو اس پر ہیں اور ہماری طرف لوٹائے جائیں گے

Indeed We shall inherit the earth and all that is on it, and only towards Us will they return.
Arberry
Surely We shall inherit the earth and all that are upon it, and unto Us they shall be returned.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًۭا نَّبِيًّا ﴿41﴾

اور کتاب میں ابراھیم کا ذکر بے شک وہ سچا نبی تھا

And remember Ibrahim in the Book; he was very truthful, a Herald of the Hidden (a Prophet).
Arberry
And mention in the Book Abraham; surely he was a true man, a Prophet.
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ يَٰٓأَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِى عَنكَ شَيْـًۭٔا ﴿42﴾
Ahmed Ali
جب اپنے باپ سے کہا اے میرے باپ تو کیوں پوجتاہے ایسے کو جونہ سنتا ہے اور نہ دیکھتا ہے اور نہ تیرےکچھ کام آ سکے

When he said to his father,* “O my father – why do you worship one which neither hears nor sees, and cannot benefit you in any way?” (* His uncle Azar.)
Arberry
When he said to his father, 'Father, why worshippest thou that which neither hears nor sees, nor avails thee anything?
يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّى قَدْ جَآءَنِى مِنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَٱتَّبِعْنِىٓ أَهْدِكَ صِرَٰطًۭا سَوِيًّۭا ﴿43﴾

اے میرے باپ بے شک مجھے وہ علم حاصل ہوا ہے جو تمہیں حاصل نہیں تو آپ میری تابعداری کریں میں آپ کو سیدھا راستہ دکھاؤں گا

“O my father, indeed a knowledge has come to me which did not come to you – therefore follow me, I will show you the Straight Path.”
Arberry
Father, there has come to me knowledge such as came not to thee; so follow me, and I will guide thee on a level path.
يَٰٓأَبَتِ لَا تَعْبُدِ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ ۖ إِنَّ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ كَانَ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَصِيًّۭا ﴿44﴾
Ahmed Ali
اے میرے باپ شیطان کی عبادت نہ کر بے شک شیطان الله کا نافرمان ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“O my father, do not be a bondman of the devil; indeed the devil is disobedient towards the Most Gracious.”
Arberry
Father, serve not Satan; surely Satan is a rebel against the All-merciful.
يَٰٓأَبَتِ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يَمَسَّكَ عَذَابٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَتَكُونَ لِلشَّيْطَٰنِ وَلِيًّۭا ﴿45﴾
Ahmed Ali
اے میرے باپ بے شک مجھے خوف ہے کہ تم پر الله کا عذاب آئے پھر شیطان کے ساتھی ہوجاؤ
Ahmed Raza Khan
“O my father, I fear that a punishment from the Most Gracious may reach you, so you would become a companion of the devil.”
Arberry
Father, I fear that some chastisement from the All-merciful will smite thee, so that thou becomest a friend to Satan.
قَالَ أَرَاغِبٌ أَنتَ عَنْ ءَالِهَتِى يَٰٓإِبْرَٰهِيمُ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ لَأَرْجُمَنَّكَ ۖ وَٱهْجُرْنِى مَلِيًّۭا ﴿46﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا اے ابراھیم کیا تو میرے معبودوں سے پھرا ہوا ہے البتہ اگر تو باز نہ آیا میں تجھے سنگسار کردوں گا اور مجھ سے ایک مدت تک دور ہو جا
Ahmed Raza Khan
He said, “What! You turn away from my Gods, O Ibrahim? If you do not desist, I will certainly stone you, and keep no relation with me for a long while.”
Arberry
Said he, 'What, art thou shrinking from my gods, Abraham? Surely, if thou givest not over, I shall stone thee; so forsake me now for some while.'
قَالَ سَلَٰمٌ عَلَيْكَ ۖ سَأَسْتَغْفِرُ لَكَ رَبِّىٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ بِى حَفِيًّۭا ﴿47﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا تیری سلامتی رہے اب میں اپنے رب سے تیری بخشش کی دعا کروں گا بے شک وہ مجھ پر بڑا مہربان ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
He said, “Stop it – peace be upon you; I shall seek forgiveness for you from my Lord; indeed He is very kind to me.”
Arberry
He said, 'Peace be upon thee! I will ask my Lord to forgive thee; surely He is ever gracious to me.
وَأَعْتَزِلُكُمْ وَمَا تَدْعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدْعُوا۟ رَبِّى عَسَىٰٓ أَلَّآ أَكُونَ بِدُعَآءِ رَبِّى شَقِيًّۭا ﴿48﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور میں تمہیں چھوڑتا ہوں اور جنہیں تم الله کے سوا پکارتے ہو اور میں اپنے رب ہی کو پکاروں گا امید ہے کہ میں اپنے رب کو پکار کر محروم نہ رہوں گا

"And I shall remain separated from you and all that you worship other than Allah and shall worship my Lord; possibly, by worshipping my Lord, I will not be amongst the unfortunate.”
Arberry
Now I will go apart from you and that you call upon, apart from God; I will call upon my Lord, and haply I shall not be, in calling upon my Lord, unprosperous.
فَلَمَّا ٱعْتَزَلَهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَهَبْنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسْحَٰقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا جَعَلْنَا نَبِيًّۭا ﴿49﴾

پھر جب ان سے علیحدٰہ ہوا اور اس چیز سے جنہیں وہ الله کے سوا پوجتے تھے ہم نے اسے اسحاق اور یعقوب عطا کیا اور ہم نے ہر ایک کو نبی بنایا

So when he had separated from them and what they worshipped other than Allah, We bestowed him Ishaq and Yaqub; and We made each of them a Herald of the Hidden.
Arberry
So, when he went apart from them and that they were serving, apart from God, We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and each We made a Prophet;
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُم مِّن رَّحْمَتِنَا وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ عَلِيًّۭا ﴿50﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ان سب کو اپنی رحمت سے حصہ دیا اور ہم نے ان کا نیک نام بلند کیا

And We gave them Our mercy, and assigned for them a true and high repute.
Arberry
and We gave them of Our mercy, and We appointed unto them a tongue of truthfulness, sublime.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ مُوسَىٰٓ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مُخْلَصًۭا وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا ﴿51﴾

اور کتاب میں موسیٰ کا ذکر کر بے شک وہ خاص بندے اور بھیجے ہوئے پیغمبر تھے

And remember Moosa in the Book; he was indeed a chosen one, and he was a Noble Messenger, a Herald of the Hidden.
Arberry
And mention in the Book Moses; he was devoted, and he was a Messenger, a Prophet.
وَنَٰدَيْنَٰهُ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ وَقَرَّبْنَٰهُ نَجِيًّۭا ﴿52﴾

اور ہم نے اسے کوہِ طور کے دائیں طرف سے پکارا اور اسے راز کی بات کہنے کے لیے قریب بلایا

We called him from the right side of the mountain Tur, and brought him close to reveal Our secret.
Arberry
We called to him from the right side Of the Mount, and We brought him near in communion.
وَوَهَبْنَا لَهُۥ مِن رَّحْمَتِنَآ أَخَاهُ هَٰرُونَ نَبِيًّۭا ﴿53﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اسے اپنی رحمت سے ان کے بھائی ہارون کو نبی بنا کر عطا کیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And with Our mercy We bestowed upon him his brother Haroon, a Prophet.
Arberry
And We gave him his brother Aaron, of Our mercy, a Prophet.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِسْمَٰعِيلَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صَادِقَ ٱلْوَعْدِ وَكَانَ رَسُولًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا ﴿54﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کتاب میں اسماعیل کا بھی ذکر کر بے شک وہ وعدہ کا سچا اور بھیجا ہوا پیغمبر تھا

And remember Ismail in the Book; he was indeed true to his promise and was a Noble Messenger, a Prophet.
Arberry
And mention in the Book Ishmael; he was true to his promise, and he was a Messenger, a Prophet.
وَكَانَ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُۥ بِٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَٱلزَّكَوٰةِ وَكَانَ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦ مَرْضِيًّۭا ﴿55﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور اپنے گھر والوں کو نماز اور زکوٰةکا حکم کرتا تھا اور وہ اپنے رب کے ہاں پسندیدہ تھا

He used to command his people to offer prayer and give charity, and was liked by his Lord.
Arberry
He bade his people to pray and to give the alms, and he was pleasing to his Lord.
وَٱذْكُرْ فِى ٱلْكِتَٰبِ إِدْرِيسَ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ صِدِّيقًۭا نَّبِيًّۭا ﴿56﴾

اور کتاب میں ادریس کا ذکر کر بے شک وہ سچا نبی تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And remember Idrees in the Book; he was indeed very truthful, a Prophet.
Arberry
And mention in the Book Idris; he was a true man, a Prophet.
وَرَفَعْنَٰهُ مَكَانًا عَلِيًّا ﴿57﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اسے بلند مرتبہ پر پہنچایا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We lifted him to a high position. (Living with soul & body in heaven, after his death.)
Arberry
We raised him up to a high place.
أُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلنَّبِيِّۦنَ مِن ذُرِّيَّةِ ءَادَمَ وَمِمَّنْ حَمَلْنَا مَعَ نُوحٍۢ وَمِن ذُرِّيَّةِ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ وَإِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ وَمِمَّنْ هَدَيْنَا وَٱجْتَبَيْنَآ ۚ إِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ خَرُّوا۟ سُجَّدًۭا وَبُكِيًّۭا ۩ ﴿58﴾

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جن پر الله نے انعام کیا پیغمبروں میں اور آدم کی اولاد میں سے اور ان میں سے جنہیں ہم نے نوح کے ساتھ سوار کیا تھا اور ابراھیم اور اسرائیل کی اولاد میں سے اور ان میں سے جنہیں ہم نے ہدایت کی اور پسند کیا جب ان پر الله کی آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو روتے ہوئے سجدے میں گرتے ہیں

It is these upon whom Allah has bestowed favour among the Prophets, from the descendants of Adam; and from those whom We boarded along with Nooh; and from the descendants of Ibrahim and Israel; and from those whom We guided and chose; when the verses of the Most Gracious were recited to them, they fell down, prostrating and weeping. (* Command of Prostration # 5.)
Arberry
These are they whom God has blessed among the Prophets of the seed of Adam, and of those We bore with Noah, and of the seed of Abraham and Israel, and of those We guided and chose. When the signs of the All-merciful were recited to them, they fell down prostrate, weeping.
۞ فَخَلَفَ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِمْ خَلْفٌ أَضَاعُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ ٱلشَّهَوَٰتِ ۖ فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا ﴿59﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ان کی جگہ ایسے ناخلف آئے جنہو ں نے نماز ضائع کی اور خواہشوں کے پیچھے پڑ گئے پھر عنقریب گمراہی کی سزا پائیں گے

And after them came the unworthy successors who squandered prayer and pursued their own desires, so they will soon encounter the forest of Gai in hell.
Arberry
Then there succeeded after them a succession who wasted the prayer, and followed lusts; so they shall encounter error
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَٰٓئِكَ يَدْخُلُونَ ٱلْجَنَّةَ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ شَيْـًۭٔا ﴿60﴾

مگر جس نے توبہ کی اور ایمان لایا اور نیک کام کیے سو وہ لوگ بہشت میں داخل ہوں گے اور ان کا ذرا نقصان نہ کیا جائے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Except those who repented and accepted faith and did good deeds – so these will enter heaven, and they will not be deprived* in the least. (* Of their due reward.)
Arberry
save him who repents, and believes, and does a righteous deed; those -- they shall enter Paradise, and they shall not be wronged anything;
جَنَّٰتِ عَدْنٍ ٱلَّتِى وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ عِبَادَهُۥ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ وَعْدُهُۥ مَأْتِيًّۭا ﴿61﴾

ہمیشگی کے باغوں میں جن کا رحمان نے اپنے بندوں سے وعدہ کیا ہے جو ان کی آنکھوں سے پوشیدہ ہے بے شک اس کا وعدہ پورا ہونے والا ہے

Everlasting Gardens of Eden, which the Most Gracious has promised to His bondmen in the unseen; indeed His promise will come.
Arberry
Gardens of Eden that the All-merciful promised His servants in the Unseen; His promise is ever performed.
لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا إِلَّا سَلَٰمًۭا ۖ وَلَهُمْ رِزْقُهُمْ فِيهَا بُكْرَةًۭ وَعَشِيًّۭا ﴿62﴾
Ahmed Ali
اس میں سوائے سلام کے کوئی فضول بات نہ سنیں گے اور انہیں وہاں صبح و شام کھانا ملے گا

They will not hear any lewd talk in it, but only Peace; and in it for them is sustenance, every morning and evening.
Arberry
There they shall hear no idle talk, but only 'Peace.' There they shall have their provision at dawn and evening.
تِلْكَ ٱلْجَنَّةُ ٱلَّتِى نُورِثُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا مَن كَانَ تَقِيًّۭا ﴿63﴾
Ahmed Ali
یہ وہ جنت ہے کہ ہم اپنے بندوں میں سے اس کو وارث بنائیں گے جو پرہیزگار ہوگا
Ahmed Raza Khan
It is the Paradise that We will bequeath to those among Our bondmen who remain pious.
Arberry
That is Paradise which We shall give as an inheritance to those of Our servants who are godfearing.
وَمَا نَتَنَزَّلُ إِلَّا بِأَمْرِ رَبِّكَ ۖ لَهُۥ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِينَا وَمَا خَلْفَنَا وَمَا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ ۚ وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّۭا ﴿64﴾

اورہم تیرے رب کے حکم کے سوا نہیں اترتے اسی کا ہے جو کچھ ہمارے سامنے ہے اور جو کچھ ہمارے پیچھے ہے اور جو کچھ اس کے درمیان ہے او ر تیرا رب بھولنے والا نہیں

(Said Angel Jibreel to Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon them) “And we angels do not come down except by the command of your Lord; to Him only belongs all that is ahead of us and all that is behind us and all that is between them; and your Lord is not forgetful.”
Arberry
We come not down, save at the commandment of thy Lord. To Him belongs all that is before us, and all that is behind us, and all between that.
رَّبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَٱعْبُدْهُ وَٱصْطَبِرْ لِعِبَٰدَتِهِۦ ۚ هَلْ تَعْلَمُ لَهُۥ سَمِيًّۭا ﴿65﴾
Ahmed Ali
آسمانوں اور زمین کا رب ہے اور جو چیز ان کے درمیان ہے سو اسی کی عبادت کرو اسی کی عبادت پر قائم رہ کیا تیرے علم میں ا س جیسا کوئی اور ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them – therefore worship Him and be firm in His worship; do you know any other of the same name as His?
Arberry
And thy Lord is never forgetful, Lord He of the heavens and earth and all that is between them. So serve Him, and be thou patient in His service; knowest thou any that can be named with His Name?
وَيَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَءِذَا مَا مِتُّ لَسَوْفَ أُخْرَجُ حَيًّا ﴿66﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انسان کہتا ہے جب میں مرجاؤں گا تو کیا پھر زندہ کر کے نکالا جاؤں گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And says man, “When I am dead, will I soon be brought forth alive?”
Arberry
Man says, 'What, when I am dead shall I then be brought forth alive?'
أَوَلَا يَذْكُرُ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن قَبْلُ وَلَمْ يَكُ شَيْـًۭٔا ﴿67﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا انسان کو یاد نہیں ہے کہ اس سے پہلے ہم نے اسےبنایا تھا اور وہ کوئی چیز بھی نہ تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Does not man remember that We created him before this, and he was non existent?
Arberry
Will not man remember that We created him aforetime, when he was nothing?
فَوَرَبِّكَ لَنَحْشُرَنَّهُمْ وَٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ ثُمَّ لَنُحْضِرَنَّهُمْ حَوْلَ جَهَنَّمَ جِثِيًّۭا ﴿68﴾
Ahmed Ali
سو تیرے رب کی قسم ہے ہم انہیں اور ان کے شیطانوں کو ضرور جمع کریں گے پھر ہم انہیں گھٹنوں پر گرے ہوئے دوزخ کے گرد حاضر کریں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So by your Lord, We shall assemble them and the devils – all of them – and bring them around hell, fallen on their knees.
Arberry
Now, by thy Lord, We shall surely muster them, and the Satans, then We shall parade them about Gehenna hobbling on their knees.
ثُمَّ لَنَنزِعَنَّ مِن كُلِّ شِيعَةٍ أَيُّهُمْ أَشَدُّ عَلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عِتِيًّۭا ﴿69﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہر گروہ میں سے ان لوگوں کو الگ کر لیں گے جو الله سے بہت ہی سرکش تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
We shall then pick out from every group the one who was most arrogant towards the Most Gracious.
Arberry
Then We shall pluck forth from every party whichever of them was the most hardened in disdain of the All-merciful;
ثُمَّ لَنَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ أَوْلَىٰ بِهَا صِلِيًّۭا ﴿70﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم ان لوگو ں کو خوب جانتے ہیں جو دوزخ میں جانے کے زیادہ مستحق ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Moreover, We well know those who most deserve to be burned in hell.
Arberry
then We shall know very well those most deserving to burn there.
وَإِن مِّنكُمْ إِلَّا وَارِدُهَا ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ حَتْمًۭا مَّقْضِيًّۭا ﴿71﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور تم میں سے کوئی بھی ایسا نہیں جس کا اس پر گزر نہ ہو یہ تیرے رب پر لازم مقرر کیا ہوا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And there is none among you who shall not pass over hell; this is an obligatory affair, binding upon your Lord. (Allah will make everyone pass over the back of hell – on a thin bridge.)
Arberry
Not one of you there is, but he shall go down to it; that for thy Lord is a thing decreed, determined.
ثُمَّ نُنَجِّى ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّنَذَرُ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّۭا ﴿72﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر ہم انہیں بچا لیں گے جو ڈرتے ہیں اور ظالموں کو اس میں گھٹنوں پر گرے ہوئے چھوڑ دیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
We shall then rescue the pious – and leave the unjust in it, fallen on their knees.
Arberry
Then We shall deliver those that were godfearing; and the evildoers We shall leave there, hobbling on their knees.
وَإِذَا تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَايَٰتُنَا بَيِّنَٰتٍۢ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَىُّ ٱلْفَرِيقَيْنِ خَيْرٌۭ مَّقَامًۭا وَأَحْسَنُ نَدِيًّۭا ﴿73﴾

اور جب انہیں ہماری کھلی ہوئی آیتیں سنائی جاتی ہیں تو کافر ایمان داروں سے کہتے ہیں دونوں فریقوں میں سے کس کا مرتبہ بہتر ہے اور محفل کس کی اچھی ہے

And when Our clear verses are recited to them, the disbelievers say to the Muslims, “Which group has a better home, and a better alliance?”
Arberry
When Our signs are recited to them as clear signs, the unbelievers say to the believers, 'Which of the two parties is better in station, fairer in assembly?'
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَحْسَنُ أَثَٰثًۭا وَرِءْيًۭا ﴿74﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم ان سے پہلے کتنی جماعتیں ہلاک کرچکے ہیں وہ سامان اور نمود میں بہتر تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And many a generation We did destroy before them, who exceeded them in wealth and pomp!
Arberry
And how many a generation We destroyed before them, who were fairer in furnishing and outward show!
قُلْ مَن كَانَ فِى ٱلضَّلَٰلَةِ فَلْيَمْدُدْ لَهُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مَدًّا ۚ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا رَأَوْا۟ مَا يُوعَدُونَ إِمَّا ٱلْعَذَابَ وَإِمَّا ٱلسَّاعَةَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ هُوَ شَرٌّۭ مَّكَانًۭا وَأَضْعَفُ جُندًۭا ﴿75﴾

کہہ دو جو شخص گمراہی میں پڑا ہوا ہے سو الله بھی اسے ڈھیل دیتا ہے یہاں تک کہ جب اس چیز کو دیکھیں گے جس کا انہیں نے وعدہ دیا گیا تھا یا عذاب یا قیامت تب معلوم کر لیں گے مرتبے میں کون برا ہے اور لشکر کس کا کمزور ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Proclaim, “For one in error – so the Most Gracious may give him respite; to the extent that when they see the thing which they are promised – either the punishment or the Last Day; so then they will come to know for whom is the evil rank and whose army is weak.”
Arberry
Say: 'Whosoever is in error, let the All-merciful prolong his term for him! Till, when they see that they were threatened, whether the chastisement, or the Hour, then they shall surely know who is worse in place, and who is weaker in hosts.'
وَيَزِيدُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱهْتَدَوْا۟ هُدًۭى ۗ وَٱلْبَٰقِيَٰتُ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتُ خَيْرٌ عِندَ رَبِّكَ ثَوَابًۭا وَخَيْرٌۭ مَّرَدًّا ﴿76﴾

اور جو لوگ ہدایت پر ہیں الله انہیں زیادہ ہدایت دیتا ہے اور باقی رہنے والی نیکیاں تیرے رب کے نزدیک ثواب اور انجام کے لحاظ سے بہت ہی بہتر ہیں

And Allah will increase the guidance for those who have received guidance; and good deeds that remain have the best reward before your Lord, and the best outcome.
Arberry
And God shall increase those who were guided in guidance; and the abiding things, the deeds of righteousness, are better with thy Lord in reward, and better in return
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى كَفَرَ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَقَالَ لَأُوتَيَنَّ مَالًۭا وَوَلَدًا ﴿77﴾

کیا تو نے اس شخص کو دیکھا جس نے ہماری آیتوں کا انکار کیا اور کہتا ہے کہ مجھے ضرور مال اور اولاد ملے گی
Ahmed Raza Khan
So have you seen him who denied Our signs and says, “I shall certainly be given wealth and children?”
Arberry
Hast thou seen him who disbelieves in Our signs and says, 'Assuredly I shall be given wealth and children'?
أَطَّلَعَ ٱلْغَيْبَ أَمِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًۭا ﴿78﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا اس نے غیب پر اطلاع پائی ہے یا اس نے الله سے اقرار لے رکھا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Has he seen the Hidden, or has he made a pact with the Most Gracious?
Arberry
What, has he observed the Unseen, or taken a covenant with the All-merciful?
كَلَّا ۚ سَنَكْتُبُ مَا يَقُولُ وَنَمُدُّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْعَذَابِ مَدًّۭا ﴿79﴾
Ahmed Ali
ہرگز نہیں ہم لکھ لیتے ہیں جو کچھ وہ کہتا ہے اور اس کے لیے عذاب بڑھاتے جاتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Never; We shall now record what he says and give him a prolonged punishment.
Arberry
No, indeed! We shall assuredly write down all that he says, and We shall prolong for him the chastisement;
وَنَرِثُهُۥ مَا يَقُولُ وَيَأْتِينَا فَرْدًۭا ﴿80﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم اس کے وارث ہوں گے جو کچھ وہ کہتا ہے او رہمارے ہاں تنہا آئے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And it is We only Who shall inherit what he says (belongs to him), and he will come to Us, alone.
Arberry
and We shall inherit from him that he says, and he shall come to Us alone.
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لِّيَكُونُوا۟ لَهُمْ عِزًّۭا ﴿81﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انہوں نے الله کے سوا معبود بنا لیے ہیں تاکہ وہ ان کے مددگار ہوں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they have chosen Gods besides Allah, so that they may provide them strength!
Arberry
And they have taken to them other gods apart from God, that they might be for them a might.
كَلَّا ۚ سَيَكْفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِهِمْ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ ضِدًّا ﴿82﴾
Ahmed Ali
ہرگز نہیں وہ جلد ہی ان کی عبادت کا انکار کریں گے اور ان کے مخالف ہوجائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Never; soon they will deny ever worshipping them, and will turn into their opponents.
Arberry
No, indeed! They shall deny their service, and they shall be against them pitted.
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ تَؤُزُّهُمْ أَزًّۭا ﴿83﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا تو نے نہیں دیکھا ہم نے شیطانو ں کوکافروں پر چھوڑ رکھا ہے وہ انھیں ابھارتے رہتے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Did you not see that We sent devils upon the disbelievers, so they excite them abundantly?
Arberry
Hast thou not seen how We sent the Satans against the unbelievers, to prick them?
فَلَا تَعْجَلْ عَلَيْهِمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا نَعُدُّ لَهُمْ عَدًّۭا ﴿84﴾
Ahmed Ali
سوتو ان کے لیے عذاب کی جلدی نہ کر ہم خود ان کے دن گن رہے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
So do not be impatient for them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him); We are only completing their number.* (* The number of days left for them or their evil deeds.)
Arberry
So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number.
يَوْمَ نَحْشُرُ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ إِلَى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَفْدًۭا ﴿85﴾
Ahmed Ali
جس دن ہم پرہیزگاروں کے رحمان کے پاس مہمان بنا کر جمع کریں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
On the day when We shall assemble the righteous towards the Most Gracious, as guests.
Arberry
On the day that We shall muster the godfearing to the All-merciful with pomp
وَنَسُوقُ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ وِرْدًۭا ﴿86﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور گناہگاروں کو دوزخ کی طرف پیاسا ہانکیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And drive the guilty towards hell, thirsty.
Arberry
and drive the evildoers into Gehenna herding,
لَّا يَمْلِكُونَ ٱلشَّفَٰعَةَ إِلَّا مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ عِندَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَهْدًۭا ﴿87﴾
Ahmed Ali
کسی کو سفارش کا اختیار نہیں ہوگا مگر جس نے رحمان کے ہاں سے اجازت لی ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
People do not own the right to intercede, except those* who have made a covenant with the Most Gracious. (* The Holy Prophets and virtuous people will be given the permission to intercede. Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him – will be the first to intercede.)
Arberry
having no power of intercession, save those who have taken with the All-merciful covenant.
وَقَالُوا۟ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَلَدًۭا ﴿88﴾
Ahmed Ali
اورکہتے ہیں کہ رحمان نے بیٹا بنا لیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And the disbelievers said, “The Most Gracious has chosen an offspring.”
Arberry
And they say, 'The All-merciful has taken unto Himself a son.
لَّقَدْ جِئْتُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِدًّۭا ﴿89﴾
Ahmed Ali
البتہ تحقیق تم سخت بات زبان پر لائے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
You have indeed brought an extremely grave speech!
Arberry
You have indeed advanced something hideous!
تَكَادُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتُ يَتَفَطَّرْنَ مِنْهُ وَتَنشَقُّ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَتَخِرُّ ٱلْجِبَالُ هَدًّا ﴿90﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہ جس سے ابھی آسمان پھٹ جائیں اور زمین چر جائے اور پہاڑ ٹکڑے ہو کر گر پڑیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
The heavens are close to being torn apart by it, and the earth being split asunder, and the mountains succumbing and falling down.
Arberry
The heavens are wellnigh rent of it and the earth split asunder, and the mountains wellnigh fall down crashing for
أَن دَعَوْا۟ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ وَلَدًۭا ﴿91﴾
Ahmed Ali
اس لئے کہ انہوں نے رحمان کے لیے بیٹا تجویز کیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Due to their ascribing of an offspring to the Most Gracious.
Arberry
that they have attributed to the All-merciful a son;
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا ﴿92﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور رحمان کی یہ شان نہیں کہ کسی کوبیٹا بنائے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And it does not befit the Most Gracious to choose an offspring!
Arberry
and it behoves not the All-merciful to take a son.
إِن كُلُّ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ إِلَّآ ءَاتِى ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًۭا ﴿93﴾
Ahmed Ali
جو کچھ آسمانوں اور زمین میں ہے ان میں سے ایسا کوئی نہیں جو رحمان کا بندہ بن کر نہ آئے
Ahmed Raza Khan
All those who are in the heavens and the earth will come to the Most Gracious as His bondmen.
Arberry
None is there in the heavens and earth but he comes to the All-merciful as a servant;
لَّقَدْ أَحْصَىٰهُمْ وَعَدَّهُمْ عَدًّۭا ﴿94﴾
Ahmed Ali
البتہ تحقیق اس نے انھیں شمار کر رکھا ہے اور ان کی گنتی گن رکھی ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
He knows their number and has counted each one of them.
Arberry
He has indeed counted them, and He has numbered them exactly.
وَكُلُّهُمْ ءَاتِيهِ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَٰمَةِ فَرْدًا ﴿95﴾
Ahmed Ali
او رہر ایک ان میں سے اس کے ہاں اکیلا آئے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And each one of them will come before Him on the Day of Resurrection, alone.
Arberry
Every one of them shall come to Him upon the Day of Resurrection, all alone.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ سَيَجْعَلُ لَهُمُ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وُدًّۭا ﴿96﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک جو ایمان لائے اور نیک کام کیے عنقریب رحمان ان کے لیے محبت پیدا کرے گالاشبہ جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے اچھے کام کیے الله تعالیٰ ان کے لیے محبت پیدا کر ے گا

Indeed those who believed and did good deeds – the Most Gracious will appoint love for them. (In the hearts of other believers.)
Arberry
Surely those who believe and do deeds of righteousness -- unto them the All-merciful shall assign love.
فَإِنَّمَا يَسَّرْنَٰهُ بِلِسَانِكَ لِتُبَشِّرَ بِهِ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ وَتُنذِرَ بِهِۦ قَوْمًۭا لُّدًّۭا ﴿97﴾
Ahmed Ali
سو ہم نے فرمان کو تیری زبان میں اس لیےآسان کیا ہے کہ تو اس سے پرہیز گاروں کو خوشخبری سنا دے اور جھگڑنے والوں کو ڈرا دے
Ahmed Raza Khan
We have therefore made this Qur’an easy upon your tongue, (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) for you to announce glad tidings with it to those who fear, and warn those who are quarrelsome.
Arberry
Now We have made it easy by thy tongue that thou mayest bear good tidings thereby to the godfearing, and warn a people stubborn.
وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هَلْ تُحِسُّ مِنْهُم مِّنْ أَحَدٍ أَوْ تَسْمَعُ لَهُمْ رِكْزًۢا ﴿98﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم ان سے پہلے کئی جماعتیں ہلاک کر چکے ہیں کیا تو کسی کی ان میں سے آہٹ پاتا ہے یا ان کی بھنک سنتا ہے

And many a generation We did destroy before them; do you see any one of them or hear their faintest sound?
Arberry
And how many a generation We destroyed before them! Dost thou perceive so much as one of them, or hear of them a whisper?
