قرآن حکمت والے کی قم ہے

Arberry
By the Wise Koran,
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿3﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک آپ رسولوں میں سے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
You (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) are indeed one of the Noble Messengers.

thou art truly among the Envoys
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍۢ مُّسْتَقِيمٍۢ ﴿4﴾

سیدھے راستے پر

On the Straight Path.
Arberry
on a straight path;
تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ﴿5﴾

غالب رحمت والے کا اتارا ہوا ہے

(The Qur’an is) Sent down by the Almighty, the Most Merciful.
Arberry
the sending down of the All-mighty, the All-wise,
لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًۭا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَٰفِلُونَ ﴿6﴾
Ahmed Ali
تاکہ آپ اس قوم کو ڈرائیں جن کے باپ دادا نہیں ڈرائے گئے سو وہ غافل ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
So that you may warn these people whose ancestors were not warned, they are therefore unaware.
Arberry
that thou mayest warn a people whose fathers were never warned, so they are heedless.
لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿7﴾
Ahmed Ali
ان میں سے اکثر پر خدا کافرمان پورا ہو چکا ہے پس وہ ایمان نہیں لائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Undoubtedly, it (their disbelief) has proved true for most of them, so they will not believe.
Arberry
The Word has been realised against most of them, yet they do not believe.
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَٰلًۭا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ ﴿8﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم نے ان کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈال دیے ہیں پس وہ ٹھوڑیوں تک ہیں سو وہ اوپر کو سر اٹھائے ہوئے ہیں

We have indeed put shackles around their necks reaching up to the chins, so they remain facing upwards.
Arberry
Surely We have put on their necks fetters up to the chin, so their heads are raised;
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّۭا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّۭا فَأَغْشَيْنَٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿9﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے ان کے سامنے ایک دیواربنادی ہے اور ان کے پیچھے بھی ایک دیوارہے پھر ہم نے انہیں ڈھانک دیا ہے کہ وہ دیکھ نہیں سکتے

And We have set a wall before them and a wall behind them, and covered the top – so they are unable to see anything.
Arberry
and We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier; and We have covered them, so they do not see.
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿10﴾

اور ان پر برابر ہے کیا آپ ان کو ڈرائیں یا نہ ڈرائیں وہ ایمان نہیں لائیں گے

And it is the same for them, whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe.
Arberry
Alike it is to them whether thou hast warned them or thou hast not warned them, they do not believe.
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍۢ وَأَجْرٍۢ كَرِيمٍ ﴿11﴾

بے شک آپ اسی کو ڈرا سکتے ہیں جو نصیحت کی پیروی کرے اوربن دیکھے رحمان سے ڈرے پس خوشخبری دے دو اس کو بخشش اوراجر کی جو عزت والا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
You warn only him who follows the advice and fears the Most Gracious without seeing; therefore give him glad tidings of forgiveness and an honourable reward.
Arberry
Thou only warnest him who follows the Remembrance and who fears the All-merciful in the Unseen; so give him the good tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage.
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَٰرَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ﴿12﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک ہم ہی مردوں کو زندہ کریں گے اور جو انھوں نے آگے بھیجا اور جو پیچھے چھوڑا اس کو لکھتے ہیں اور ہم نے ہر چیز کو کتاب واضح (لوح محفوظ) میں محفوظ کر رکھا ہے

We will surely bring the dead to life and We record what they send ahead and the signs they will leave behind; and We have accounted all things in a clear Book.
Arberry
Surely it is We who bring the dead to life and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; everything We have numbered in a clear register.
وَٱضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿13﴾

اور ان سے بستی والوں کا حال مشال کے طور پر بیان کر جب کہ ان کے پاس رسول آئے

And relate to them the signs of the people of the city – when two emissaries came to them.

Strike for them a similitude -- the inhabitants of the city, when the Envoys came to it;
إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍۢ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ ﴿14﴾

جب ہم نے ان کے پاس دو کو بھیجا انھوں نے ان کو جھٹلایا پھر ہم نے تیسرے سے مدد کی پھر انہوں نے کہا ہم تمہاری طرف بھیجے گئے ہیں

When We had sent two towards them and they denied them both, so We fortified them with a third, and they all said, “Indeed we have been sent to you.”
Arberry
when We sent unto them two men, but they cried them lies, so We sent a third as reinforcement. They said, 'We are assuredly Envoys unto you.
قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ ﴿15﴾
Ahmed Ali
انہوں نے کہا تم کچھ اور نہیں ہو مگر ہماری طرح انسان ہو اور رحمان نے کوئی چیز نہیں اتاری تم اور کچھ نہیں ہو مگر جھوٹ بول رہے ہو

They said, “You are nothing but mortals like us; the Most Gracious has not sent down anything – you are nothing but liars.”
Arberry
They said, 'You are naught but mortals like us; the All-merciful has not sent down anything. You are speaking only lies.'
قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿16﴾
Ahmed Ali
انہوں نے کہا ہمارا رب جانتا ہے کہ ہم تمہاری طرف بھیجے ہوئے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
They answered, “Our Lord knows that surely, without doubt, we have been sent towards you.”
Arberry
They said, 'Our Lord knows we are Envoys unto you;
وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ ﴿17﴾
Ahmed Ali
اورہمارے ذمے کھلم کھلا پہنچا دینا ہی ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And our duty is nothing but to plainly convey (the message).”

and it is only for us to deliver the Manifest Message.'
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌۭ ﴿18﴾
Ahmed Ali
انہوں نے کہا ہم نے تو تمہیں منحوس سمجھا ہے اگر تم باز نہ آؤ گے توہم تمہیں سنگسار کر دیں گے اور تمہیں ہمارے ہاتھ سے ضرور دردناک عذاب پہنچے گا

They (the people of the city) said, “We think you are ominous; indeed, if you do not desist, we shall surely stone you to death, and you will surely face a grievous torture at our hands.”
Arberry
They said, 'We augur ill of you. If you give not over, we will stone you and there shall visit you from us a painful chastisement.'
قَالُوا۟ طَٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌۭ مُّسْرِفُونَ ﴿19﴾
Ahmed Ali
انہوں نے کہا تمہاری نحوست تو تمہارے ساتھ ہے کیا اگر تمہیں نصیحت کی جائے (تو اسے نحوست سمجھتے ہو) بلکہ تم حد سے بڑھنے والے ہو

They said, “Your evil omens are with you! What! You get annoyed for being advised? In fact you are a people who transgress the limits!”
Arberry
They said, 'Your augury is with you; if you are reminded? But you are a prodigal people.'
وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌۭ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَٰقَوْمِ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿20﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور شہر کے پرلے کنارے سے ایک آدمی دوڑتا ہوا آیا کہا اے میری قوم رسولوں کی پیروی کرو
Ahmed Raza Khan
And from the outermost part of the city came a man running; he said, “O my people! Obey those who have been sent.”
Arberry
Then came a man from the furthest part of the city, running; he said, 'My people, follow the Envoys!
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ أَجْرًۭا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ﴿21﴾
Ahmed Ali
ان کی پیروی کرو جو تم سےکوئی اجر نہیں مانگتے اوروہ ہدایت پانے والے ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Obey those who do not ask any fee from you, and they are on guidance.”
Arberry
Follow such as ask no wage of you, that are right-guided.
وَمَا لِىَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿22﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور میرے لیے کیا ہے کہ میں اس کی عبادت نہ کروں جس نے مجھے پیدا کیا ہے اور اسی کی طرف تم لوٹائے جاؤ گے

“And what is the matter with me that I should not worship Him Who created me, whereas it is towards Him that you are to return?”
Arberry
And why should I not serve Him who originated me, and unto whom you shall be returned?
ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ بِضُرٍّۢ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ ﴿23﴾

کیا میں اس کے سوا اوروں کو معبود بناؤں کہ اگر رحمان مجھے تکلیف دینے کا ارادہ کرے تو ان کی سفارش کچھ بھی میرے کام نہ آئے اور نہ وہ مجھے چھڑا سکیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
“What! Shall I appoint Gods other than Allah? So that if the Most Gracious should wish me any harm, their intercession would be of no use to me, nor would they be able to save me?”
Arberry
What, shall I take, apart from Him, gods whose intercession, if the All-merciful desires affliction for me, shall not avail me anything, and who will never deliver me?
إِنِّىٓ إِذًۭا لَّفِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ ﴿24﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک تب میں صریح گمراہی میں ہوں گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Undoubtedly, I am then in open error.”
Arberry
Surely in that case I should be in manifest error.
إِنِّىٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَٱسْمَعُونِ ﴿25﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک میں تمہارے رب پر ایمان لایا پس میری بات سنو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Indeed I have believed in your Lord, so heed me.”
Arberry
Behold, I believe in your Lord; therefore hear me!'
قِيلَ ٱدْخُلِ ٱلْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِى يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿26﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہا گیا جنت میں داخل ہو جا اس نے کہا اے کاش! میری قوم بھی جان لیتی
Ahmed Raza Khan
It was said to him, “Enter Paradise”; he said, “If only my people knew!”
Arberry
It was said, 'Enter Paradise!' He said, 'Ah, would that my people had knowledge
بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ ﴿27﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہ میرے رب نے مجھے بخش دیا اور مجھے عزت والوں میں کر دیا
Ahmed Raza Khan
“The manner in which my Lord has pardoned me and made me of the honoured ones!”
Arberry
that my Lord has forgiven me and that He has placed me among the honoured.'
۞ وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ ﴿28﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے اس کی قوم پر اس کے بعد کوئی فوج آسمان سے نہ اتاری اور نہ ہم اتارنے والے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And after him, We did not send down any army from heaven against his people, nor did We intend to send down an army.
Arberry
And We sent not down upon his people, after him, any host out of heaven; neither would We send any down.
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ خَٰمِدُونَ ﴿29﴾
Ahmed Ali
صرف ایک ہی چیخ تھی کہ جس سے وہ بجھ کر رہ گئے

It was just one scream, and with it they were extinguished.

It was only one Cry and lo, they were silent and still.
يَٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى ٱلْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ ﴿30﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا افسوس ہے بندوں پر ان کے پاس ایساکوئی بھی رسول نہیں آیا جس سے انہوں نے ہنسی نہ کی ہو

And it was said, “Woe to those bondmen – whenever a Noble Messenger comes to them, they mock at him!”
Arberry
Ah, woe for those servants! Never comes unto them a Messenger, but they mock at him.
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿31﴾

کیا یہ نہیں دیکھ چکے کہ ہم نے ان سے پہلے کتنی قوموں کو ہلاک کر دیا وہ ان کے پاس لوٹ کر نہیں آئے

Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them, which will not return to them?
Arberry
What, have they not seen how many generations We have destroyed before them, and that it is not unto them that they return?
وَإِن كُلٌّۭ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌۭ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ ﴿32﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور سب کے سب ہمارے پاس حاضر ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And without exception, all of them will be brought forth before Us.
Arberry
They shall every one of them be arraigned before Us.
وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّۭا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ ﴿33﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے لیے خشک زمین بھی ایک نشانی ہے جسے ہم نے زندہ کیا اور اس سے اناج نکالا جس سے وہ کھاتے ہیں

And a sign for them is the dead earth; We gave it life and We produced from it grain, so they eat from it.
Arberry
And a sign for them is the dead land, that We quickened and brought forth from it grain, whereof they eat;
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّٰتٍۢ مِّن نَّخِيلٍۢ وَأَعْنَٰبٍۢ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْعُيُونِ ﴿34﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور اس میں ہم نے کھجوروں اور انگوروں کے باغ بنائے اور ان میں چشمے جاری کیے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We have placed in it gardens of dates and grapes, and We have made springs of water in it.
Arberry
and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth,
لِيَأْكُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿35﴾
Ahmed Ali
تاکہ وہ اس کے پھل کھائیں اور یہ چیزیں ان کے ہاتھوں کی بنائی ہوئی نہیں ہیں پھر کیوں شکر نہیں کرتے

So that they may eat from its fruits, whereas they are not manufactured by their hands! So will they not be grateful?
Arberry
that they might eat of its fruits and their hands' labour. What, will they not be thankful?
سُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿36﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ ذات پاک ہے جس نے زمین سے اگنے والی چیزوں کوگوناگوں بنایا اور خود ان میں سے بھی اور ان چیزوں میں سے بھی جنہیں وہ نہیں جانتے

Purity is to Him Who created all pairs, from what the earth grows, and of themselves, and from the things they do not know.
Arberry
Glory be to Him, who created all the pairs of what the earth produces, and of themselves, and of what they know not.
وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ ﴿37﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے لیے رات بھی ایک نشانی ہے کہ ہم اس کے اوپرسے دن کو اتار دیتے ہیں پھر ناگہاں وہ اندھیرے میں رہ جاتے ہیں

And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness.
Arberry
And a sign for them is the night; We strip it of the day and lo, they are in darkness.
وَٱلشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّۢ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ ﴿38﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور سورج اپنے ٹھکانے کی طرف چلتا رہتا ہے یہ زبردست خبردار کا اندازہ کیا ہوا ہے

And the sun runs its course for its final destination; this is a command of the Almighty, the All Knowing.
Arberry
And the sun -- it runs to a fixed resting-place; that is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing.
وَٱلْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلْعُرْجُونِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ ﴿39﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے چاند کی منزلیں مقرر کر دی ہیں یہاں تک کہ پرانی ٹہنی کی طرح ہوجاتا ہے

And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm.
Arberry
And the moon -- We have determined it by stations, till it returns like an aged palm-bough.
لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّۭ فِى فَلَكٍۢ يَسْبَحُونَ ﴿40﴾

نہ سورج کی مجال ہے ہ چاند کو جا پکڑے اور نہ رات ہی دن سے پہلے آ سکتی ہے اور ہر ایک ایک آسمان میں تیرتا پھرتا ہے

It is not for the sun to catch up with the moon, nor does the night surpass the day; and each one of them floats in its orbit.
Arberry
It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky.
وَءَايَةٌۭ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ ﴿41﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے لیے یہ بھی نشانی ہے ہم نے ان کی نسل کوبھری کشتی میں سوار کیا

And a sign for them is that We lodged them in a laden ship, while they were in their forefathers backs.

And a sign for them is that We carried their seed in the laden ship,
وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ ﴿42﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے لیے اسی طرح کی اور بھی چیزیں بنائی ہیں جن پر وہ سوار ہوتے ہیں

And We have created for them similar ships, in which they now ride.
Arberry
and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride;
وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ ﴿43﴾

اور اگر ہم چاہتے تو انہیں ڈبو دیتے پھر نہ ان کا کوئی فریاد رس ہوتا اور نہ وہ بچائے جاتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And if We will, We can drown them, so there would be no help in their distress, nor would they be saved.
Arberry
and if We will, We drown them, then none have they to cry to, neither are they delivered,
إِلَّا رَحْمَةًۭ مِّنَّا وَمَتَٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍۢ ﴿44﴾

مگر یہ ہماری مہربانی ہے اور انہیں ایک مدت تک فائدہ دینا ہے

Unless by mercy from Us, and as a comfort for a while.
Arberry
save as a mercy from Us, and enjoyment for a while.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ﴿45﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ اپنے سامنے اور پیچھے آنے والے عذاب سے ڈرو تاکہ تم پر رحم کیا جائے

And when it is said to them, “Beware of what is before you and what is behind you, in the hope of your gaining mercy”, they turn away!
Arberry
And when it is said to them, 'Fear what is before you and what is behind you; haply you will find mercy' --
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍۢ مِّنْ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ﴿46﴾

اوران کے پاس ان کے رب کی نشانیوں میں سے ایسی کوئی بھی نشانی نہیں آتی جس سے وہ منہ موڑ لیتے ہوں

And whenever a sign comes to them from the signs of their Lord, they always turn away from it!
Arberry
yet never any sign of the signs of their Lord comes to them, but they are turning away from it.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ ﴿47﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہےکہ الله کے رزق میں سے کچھ خرچ کیا کرو تو کافر ایمانداروں سے کہتے ہیں کیا ہم اسے کھلائیں گےکہ اگر الله چاہتا تو خود اسے کھلا سکتا تھا تم جو ہو تو صاف گمراہی میں پڑے ہوئے ہو

And when it is said to them, “Spend in Allah’s cause, from what Allah has provided you”, the disbelievers say regarding the believers, “Shall we feed these, whom if Allah willed, would have fed? You are not but in open error!”
Arberry
And when it is said to them, 'Expend of that God has provided you,' the unbelievers say to the believers, 'What, shall we feed such a one whom, if God willed, He would feed? You are only in manifest error!'
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَٰدِقِينَ ﴿48﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور کہتے ہیں یہ وعدہ کب ہوگا اگر تم سچے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they say, “When will this promise be fulfilled, if you are truthful?”
Arberry
They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?'
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ ﴿49﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ صرف ایک چیخ ہی کا انتظار کر رہے ہیں جو انہیں آ لے گی اور وہ آپس میں جھگڑ رہے ہوں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes.
Arberry
They are awaiting only for one Cry to seize them while they are yet disputing,
فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةًۭ وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿50﴾
Ahmed Ali
پس نہ تو وہ وصیت کر سکیں گے اور نہ اپنے گھر والوں کی طرف واپس جا سکیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Therefore neither able to make a will, nor returning to their homes.
Arberry
then they will not be able to make any testament, nor will they return to their people.
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ ﴿51﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور صور پھونکا جائے گا تو وہ فوراً اپنی قبروں سے نکل کر اپنے رب کی طرف دوڑے چلے آئیں گے

And the Trumpet will be blown – so they will come forth from the graves, running towards their Lord.
Arberry
And the Trumpet shall be blown; then behold, they are sliding down from their tombs unto their Lord.
قَالُوا۟ يَٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿52﴾
Ahmed Ali
کہیں گے ہائے افسوس کس نے ہمیں ہماری خوابگاہ سے اٹھایا یہی ہے جو رحمان نے وعدہ کیا تھا اور رسولوں نے سچ کہا تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Saying, “O our misfortune! Who has raised us from our sleep? This is what the Most Gracious had promised, and the Noble Messengers had spoken the truth!”
Arberry
They say, 'Alas for us! Who roused us out of our sleeping place? This is what the All-merciful promised, and the Envoys spoke truly.'
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌۭ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ ﴿53﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ تو صرف ایک ہی زور کی آواز ہو گی پھر وہ سب ہمارے سامنے حاضر کیے جائیں گے

It is just one scream, and every one of them will be brought together before Us!
Arberry
'It was only one Cry; then behold, they are all arraigned before Us.
فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌۭ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿54﴾

پھر اس دن کسی پرکچھ بھی ظلم نہ کیا جائے گا اورتم اسی کا بدلہ پاؤ گے جو کیا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
So this day no soul will be wronged in the least; and you will not be compensated except for your deeds.
Arberry
So today no soul shall be wronged anything, and you shall not be recompensed, except according to what you have been doing.
إِنَّ أَصْحَٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى شُغُلٍۢ فَٰكِهُونَ ﴿55﴾
Ahmed Ali
بے شک بہشتی اس دن مزہ سے دل بہلا رہے ہوں گے

Indeed this day the dwellers of Paradise are in comfort, with blissful hearts.
Arberry
See, the inhabitants of Paradise today are busy in their rejoicing,
هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِى ظِلَٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ ﴿56﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ اوران کی بیویاں سایوں میں تختوں پر تکیہ لگائے ہوئے بیٹھے ہوں گے

They and their wives are in shades, reclining on thrones.
Arberry
they and their spouses, reclining upon couches in the shade;
لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٌۭ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ ﴿57﴾
Ahmed Ali
ان کے لیے وہاں میوہ ہوگا اور انہیں ملے گا جو وہ مانگیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
In it (paradise) are fruits for them and whatever they ask for.
Arberry
therein they have fruits, and they have all that they call for.
سَلَٰمٌۭ قَوْلًۭا مِّن رَّبٍّۢ رَّحِيمٍۢ ﴿58﴾
Ahmed Ali
پروردگار نہایت رحم والے کی طرف سے انہیں سلام فرمایا جاوے گا
Ahmed Raza Khan
Upon them will be “Peace” – a Word from their Merciful Lord!
Arberry
'Peace!' -- such is the greeting, from a Lord All-compassionate.
وَٱمْتَٰزُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ ﴿59﴾
Ahmed Ali
اے مجرمو! آج الگ ہو جاؤ
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And be separated (from others) this day, O you criminals!”
Arberry
'Now keep yourselves apart, you sinners, upon this day!
۞ أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱلشَّيْطَٰنَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ﴿60﴾
Ahmed Ali
اے آدم کی اولاد! کیا میں نے تمہیں تاکید نہ کر دی تھی کہ شیطان کی عبادت نہ کرنا کیونکہ وہ تمہارا صریح دشمن ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“O Descendants of Adam! Did I not take a covenant from you that you shall not worship the devil? Undoubtedly, he is your open enemy.”
Arberry
Made I not covenant with you, Children of Adam, that you should not serve Satan -- surely he is a manifest foe to you --
وَأَنِ ٱعْبُدُونِى ۚ هَٰذَا صِرَٰطٌۭ مُّسْتَقِيمٌۭ ﴿61﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور یہ کہ میری ہی عبادت کرنا یہ سیدھا راستہ ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And that you shall worship Me? This is the Straight Path.”
Arberry
and that you should serve Me? This is a straight path.
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّۭا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿62﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور البتہ اس نے تم میں سے بہت لوگوں کو گمراہ کیا تھا کیا پس تم نہیں سمجھتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“And he has indeed led a large number of you astray; so did you not have sense?”
Arberry
He led astray many a throng of you; did you not understand?
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ﴿63﴾
Ahmed Ali
یہی دوزخ ہے جس کا تم سے وعدہ کیا جاتا تھا
Ahmed Raza Khan
“This is hell, which you were promised.”
Arberry
This is Gehenna, then, the same that you were promised;
ٱصْلَوْهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ ﴿64﴾
Ahmed Ali
آج اس میں داخل ہو جاؤ اس کے بدلے جوتم کفر کیا کرتے تھے
Ahmed Raza Khan
“Enter it this day – the recompense of your disbelief.”
Arberry
roast well in it today, for that you were unbelievers!'
ٱلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿65﴾
Ahmed Ali
آج ہم ان کے مونہوں پر مہر لگا دیں گے اور ہمارے ساتھ ان کے ہاتھ بولیں گے اور ان کے پاؤں شہادت دیں گے اس پر جو وہ کیا کرتے تھے

This day We will set a seal on their mouths, and their hands will speak out to Us and their feet will bear witness to their deeds.
Arberry
Today We set a seal on their mouths, and their hands speak to Us, and their feet bear witness as to what they have been earning.
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿66﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو ان کی آنکھیں مٹاڈالیں پس وہ راستہ کی طرف دوڑیں پھر وہ کیوں کر دیکھ سکیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And had We willed, We could have quenched their eyes so they would rush towards the path, unable to see a thing.
Arberry
Did We will, We would have obliterated their eyes, then they would race to the path, but how would they see?
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَطَٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّۭا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿67﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو ان کی صورتیں ان جگہوں پر مسخ کر دیں پس نہ وہ آگے چل سکیں او ر نہ ہی واپس لوٹ سکیں

And had We willed, We could have disfigured their faces while they were in their homes, therefore unable to go forward or turn back.
Arberry
Did We will, We would have changed them where they were, then they could not go on, nor could they return.
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿68﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم جس کی عمر زیادہ کرتے ہیں بناوٹ میں اسے الٹا گھٹاتے چلے جاتے ہیں کیا یہ لوگ نہیں سمجھتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And whomever We bring to an old age, We reverse him in creation; so do they not understand?
Arberry
And to whomsoever We give long life, We bend him over in His constitution; what, do they not understand?
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌۭ وَقُرْءَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ﴿69﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہم نے نبی کو شعر نہیں سکھایا اور نہ یہ اس کے مناسب ہی تھا یہ تو صرف نصیحت اور واضح قرآن ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And We have not taught him (Prophet Mohammed- peace and blessings be upon him) to recite poetry, nor does it befit him; it is nothing but an advice and the bright Qur’an.
Arberry
We have not taught him poetry; it is not seemly for him. It is only a Remembrance and a Clear Koran,
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّۭا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَى ٱلْكَٰفِرِينَ ﴿70﴾
Ahmed Ali
تاکہ جو زندہ ہے اسے ڈرائے اور کافروں پر الزام ثابت ہو جائے
Ahmed Raza Khan
To warn the living*, and to prove the Word against disbelievers. (Only the believers are deemed alive in Allah’s sight.)
Arberry
that he may warn whosoever is living, and that the Word may be realized against the unbelievers.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَآ أَنْعَٰمًۭا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَٰلِكُونَ ﴿71﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ ہم نے ان کے لیے اپنے ہاتھوں سے چار پائے بنائے جن کے وہ مالک ہیں
Ahmed Raza Khan
Did they not see that We have created animals for them from Our handiwork, so they are their owners?
Arberry
Have they not seen how that We have created for them of that Our hands wrought cattle that they own?
وَذَلَّلْنَٰهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ ﴿72﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور انہیں ان کے بس میں کر دیا ہے پھر ان میں سے کسی پر چڑھتے ہیں اور کسی کو کھاتے ہیں

And have subjected the animals for them, so they ride some animals and eat some?
Arberry
We have subdued them to them, and some of them they ride, and some they eat;
وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَٰفِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿73﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ان کے لیے ان میں اور بہت سے فائدے اور پینے کی چیزیں ہیں پھر کیوں شکر نہیں کرتے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And for them in the animals are numerous different benefits and drinks; so will they not be grateful?
Arberry
other uses also they have in them, and beverages. What, will they not be thankful?
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةًۭ لَّعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿74﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور الله کے سوا انہوں نے اور معبود بنا رکھے ہیں تاکہ وہ ان کی مدد کریں
Ahmed Raza Khan
And they have appointed Gods other than Allah, that perhaps they may be helped!
Arberry
Yet they have taken, apart from God, gods; haply they might be helped.
لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌۭ مُّحْضَرُونَ ﴿75﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ ان کی مدد نہیں کر سکیں گے اور وہ ان کے حق میں ایک فریق (مخالف) ہوں گے جو حاضر کیے جائیں گے
Ahmed Raza Khan
They (the appointed Gods) cannot help them; and they and their armies will come (to Us), as captives.
Arberry
They cannot help them, though they be hosts made ready for them.
فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ ۘ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ﴿76﴾
Ahmed Ali
پھر آپ ان کی بات سے غمزدہ نہ ہوں بے شک ہم جانتے ہیں جو وہ چھپاتے ہیں اور جو ظاہر کرتے ہیں

Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) do not grieve because of what they (the disbelievers) say; indeed We know what they conceal and what they disclose.
Arberry
So do not let their saying grieve thee; assuredly We know what they keep secret and what they publish.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَٰهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍۢ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ ﴿77﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا آدمی نہیں جانتاکہ ہم نے اسے منی کے ایک قطرے سے بنایا ہے پھر وہ کھلم کھلا دشمن بن کر جھگڑنے لگا
Ahmed Raza Khan
And did not man see that We have created him from a drop of semen? Yet he is an open quarreller!
Arberry
Has not man regarded how that We created him of a sperm-drop? Then lo, he is a manifest adversary.
وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًۭا وَنَسِىَ خَلْقَهُۥ ۖ قَالَ مَن يُحْىِ ٱلْعِظَٰمَ وَهِىَ رَمِيمٌۭ ﴿78﴾
Ahmed Ali
اور ہماری نسبت باتیں بنانے لگا اور اپنا پیدا ہونا بھول گیا کہنے لگا بوسیدہ ہڈیوں کو کون زندہ کر سکتا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And he invents an example for Us, while forgetting his own creation, saying, “Who is such that can revive the bones when they have completely rotted away?”
Arberry
And he has struck for Us a similitude and forgotten his creation; he says, 'Who shall quicken the bones when they are decayed?'
قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا ٱلَّذِىٓ أَنشَأَهَآ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍۢ ۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿79﴾

کہہ دوانہیں وہی زندہ کرے گا جس نے انہیں پہلی بار پیدا کیا تھا اور وہ سب کچھ بنانا جانتا ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “They will be revived by the One Who created them the first time; and He is the All Knowing of every creation.”
Arberry
Say: 'He shall quicken them, who originated them the first time; He knows all creation,
ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّجَرِ ٱلْأَخْضَرِ نَارًۭا فَإِذَآ أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ ﴿80﴾
Ahmed Ali
وہ جس نے تمہارے لیے سبز درخت سے آگ پیدا کر دی کہ تم جھٹ پٹ اس سے آگ سلگا لیتے ہو
Ahmed Raza Khan
“The One Who has created for you fire from the green tree, so you kindle from it.”
Arberry
who has made for you out of the green tree fire and lo, from it you kindle.'
أَوَلَيْسَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ بِقَٰدِرٍ عَلَىٰٓ أَن يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَهُوَ ٱلْخَلَّٰقُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ ﴿81﴾
Ahmed Ali
کیا وہ جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو بنا دیا اس پر قاد رنہیں کہ ان جیسے اور بنائے کیوں نہیں وہ بہت کچھ بنانے ولا ماہر ہے
Ahmed Raza Khan
And is it not possible for the One Who created the heavens and the earth to create the likes of them? It is surely possible, why not? And He is the Great Creator, the All Knowing of everything.
Arberry
Is not He, who created the heavens and earth, able to create the like of them? Yes indeed; He is the All-creator, the All-knowing.
إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُۥٓ إِذَآ أَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا أَن يَقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَيَكُونُ ﴿82﴾

اس کی تو یہ شان ہے کہ جب وہ کسی چیز کا ارادہ کرتا ہے تو اتنا ہی فرما دیتا ہے کہ ہو سو وہ ہو جاتی ہے

And His only task when He intends a thing is to command it, “Be” – and it thereupon happens!
Arberry
His command, when He desires a thing, is to say to it 'Be,' and it is.
فَسُبْحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِى بِيَدِهِۦ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿83﴾

پس وہ ذات پاک ہے جس کے ہاتھ میں ہر چیز کا کامل اختیار ہے اور اسی کی طرف تم لوٹائے جاؤ گے

Therefore Purity is to Him in Whose Hand* is the control over all things and it is towards Him that you will be returned. (Used as a metaphor to mean Power).
Arberry
So glory be to Him, in whose hand is the dominion of everything, and unto whom you shall be returned.
